Next sailing yacht from Alloy Yachts might be AY46, the new 56-meter ketch. This is to launch in 2013.
According to Alloy yachts "Mondango 3" was launched today, she is the above mentioned AY 46! Sounds great but I have not seen a photo yet..

I forgot to post this a while ago but it appears that Alloy has closed shop. They previously reduced staff as they didn't have orders but their website has been offline for some time. I really liked their builds, it will be sad to see them go.
This was post on the NewZealand Herald back in October 2015. Super yacht builder Alloy Yachts is selling its huge industrial premises on a 1.8 hectare freehold site in Henderson directly adjacent to the north western motorway at the Lincoln Rd interchange. Alloy Yachts has occupied the site for 30 years but wound down the business about two years ago when global demand for super yachts plummeted. The company has already sold much of the plant in a separate series of auctions. "The premises are arguably the largest of its type in west Auckland," says Bruce Whillans, of Whillans Realty Group who, with Peta Laery and Tim Boyle of CBRE, is marketing the property for sale with vacant possession by tender closing November 26.
Pretty sad... the very first superyacht I ever saw in person - standing on the pier just a few feet away from the hull - was Destination Fox Harb'r, probably in 2004 if I remember correctly.
I was out for a drive yesterday and went past their premises. Extremely sad to see their building in such a closed up state. Sensation Yachts building next door is falling apart and the former Vaudrey Miller premises (the most modern of the buildings) are not a marine business. Spencer Marine is the only one left, building a 12m sports fisher. With Fitzroy gone also and only McMullen & Wing and Yachting Developments left, it would be a challenge to find a buyer for the premises that will use it for its intended purchase. A sad end to a marine manufacturing hub in NZ.
Antony Hambrook of the former Alloy Yachts yard in New Zealand has passed away. He rose the ranks at Alloy to the position of Managing Director which was the longest post he held at the yard (26 years), right up until the yard closed. He passed on peacefully on February 1st. A celebratory service will be held on February 9th at St Luke's Church at 2pm (local time).
