That's the one...I did a number of upgrades since I purchased it.. But I got a good deal for what was basically a little used freshwater boat.
I was not aware of a gelcoat problem however I did notice a few areas of minor cracking which the dealer has indicated will be repaired. Is there a range of model years where this condition is prevalent?
Upon further research, it seems there has been a fair amount of previous repair work done on this 2001 Post, some of which is yellowing and needs to be corrected again. If I couple that with the annoying turbo whine and a newly surfacing issue related to handling problems in following seas, I think it may be time to resume the search for a quality convertible sportfish. Any suggestions of known boats or specific boats to look for are welcome. We will be boating/fishing on Lake Erie, east central area where 2-4 short chop is the order of the day. 36'-42' size range, prefer Cat power capable of high 20's, low 30's cruise (mph). Don't necessarily need two staterooms but separate shower is a must for the wife. Galley down is her preference but not a deal breaker. Trolling valves are a must, either existing or practical to install.
I may be but my current boat is 2007 38 Rampage Express. Great boat! But, we need a convertible to fit our boating lifestyle and our two dogs. I've watched them fall down the steps into the cabin enough.
45' sportfish convertible. Saw one up close this fall. Wife didn't like the floor plan and it's a big feeling bruiser. Feels like a 50' (actually 48+) which is too big.
