    Depending on the boom they are using the boatyard might be able to set it in the engine room. Then all you have to do is scoot it forward.

    You will be happy with the Phasor. I put the 8kw with sound enclosure in my boat back in July. I used it to the Bahamas and back and it worked great. I did add gauges to the helm so I can watch the temp and oil pressure. It very quiet and starts so easy.

    Awesome! More positive feedback. Love it! A pic of the old Gen slid back between the mains , the gen plywood plate removed and a fresh coat of Moondust AwlGrip in the bilge beneath!

    This is what the last few days looked like. Built a platform at salon deck level

    Coming out of the hole...

    Out in the cockpit Ready to pick and replace with a shiny new one....Just rolled it on a few 3/4" wood dowels on the plywood to get it from the salon out to the cockpit. Worked like a charm! headed over to the boatyard for a 45 minute pit stop

    New Generator and drip pan bolted in place awaiting this weekends electrical and plumbing connections. Also doing some painting and LED lighting in the ER. Amazing what a shiny new piece of gear will do to inspire you!

    I hope to be making power early next week with turkey time factored in. I had a helper for about 5 hours thus far. I probably have about 20 man hours into the project at this point +/-

    I'll have it in the back of my Burb as soon as I can go and stay vertical tomorrow. Have to pick up a 21' boat & trailer down there also (new to us work boat). Old 2500-Burb will ride fine on it's way home.
    Please blame all on that Crappy guy down in FL and tell da wife I'm sorry.

    You need a complete running powerhead or one that needs to be rebuilt? 2 stroke? HPDI or what?

    2004, yam, v4, 150 hp, carbs. Motor ran a few out of oil. Lil rattle from the crank. Compression still up. I hate working on outboards. I'd rather swap or have swapped the power head and go.
    It's just going to be another work - tow boat, not fast but reliable.

    Not to highjack the thread but I have the same Onan with sound shield that I pulled out back in August.
    As long as you held the start button in she ran, as soon as you let go she would die.
    After putting $$$ into circuit board and switching relays we never could figure out what the problem was. I made the call to pull the trigger on the Phasor.
    Bob or anyone else I have the Onan at my shop in Orlando if your interested. My plan was to take it to the local Onan service center and let them figure it out but just haven't had the time.

    Barney......the new unit looks good sitting in place and I like the stainless pan option, great choice!

    One of the following .No oil pressure, bad oil pressure switch or temperature switch probably. Thanks for the offer but a very kind gentleman is facilitating plan B!

    Sorry Bob! And Thanks Rcrapps! The new gen is all hooked up and making power. It is quieter than my old unit too. Just finishing some touch up paint and other picky work in the engine room but the Miss Pearl is ready for her next adventure. The Wahoo population off the coast of Bimini is getting nervous!! I enjoyed the project and would be happy to answer any questions that the forum might have. Happy Holidays!
