    I have said multiple times, MY FAULT. I should have read the contract. NO excuses. The reason I did the post was to advise others. I have spoken to 4 owners and 5 Captains, since this incident, that charter. NOT ONE repeat NOT ONE was aware of this clause. ALL of them said they would amend the term or NOT charter. As an aside, I just received the renewal for my marine insurance. Off it went to my marine attorney for review. One time you can make a mistake, second time just plain stupid.

    Yes, you have and accepted the flogging gracefully. It was another poster who then made a reference to "crooked brokers."

    I was aware of that clause but always on the other side of the equation so it was not punitive to me, just to the boat owner.

    Hi Olderboater,
    I'm very interesting about ghese kind of broker!!!
    WE are actually under a Myba central agency that sold us only one week during this med summer season and we are also having problems to get payed from this hystorical member!
    YAcht and crew had only positive feedback in the last years!
    WE are very interested to find the right broker not to get the 12 weeks booked but to have a serious and working partner!
    THanks for any suggestions also in pvt!
