The NB 55 originially 76m grew during construction to 81m and also slight design changes were conducted giving her a more pleasant appearance. Found the new rendering in a print yachting publication and not on the internet as yet. She is still for sale, asking 57,500,000 euro. So you would get the completed yacht for that amount of money, given that no changes are being conducted?
Hi, I see that you changed the wording of your post, the big difference is the quality and re saleability. Whilst it is true the Nthn European builders attach a premium to their products they are generally found to be better quality with less overall Ownership cost during their life cycle. The same is found in the commercial world - cheap boats cost more to run.
Yes I did, sorry. I deleted accidentally a bit, if my memory serves me right my wording was similar to this "That is a huge price advantage compared to their competitors from Northern Europe. At least more than I had expected." Just for clarifiation. But I guess the higher Ownership costs due to lower quality do not compensate the lower buildcosts compard to the Northern European, do they? If so, it is probably yacht specific depanding on type, amount of use etc..?
I'm interested in this as well. Another item that I have been interested in is how would a second tier Northern European yard (I'm not sure if these are all applicable but say HDW, Nobiskrug, Kucsh, Peters) compare to top tier/Turkish & Italian yards in regards to construction cost and lifetime maintenance costs?
"NB55" now named project "Shark" is now listed by Fraser as well as Burgess. Her exterior design was again changed slightly giving her a even more appealing appearance. Similar to "Phoenix2". PROJECT SHARK Superyacht | Luxury Motor Yacht for Sale with Burgess "Stingray" is another potential Proteksan & Turquoise project listed by Fraser yachts. With a length of 73m and a price of 49,500,000 euros her new owners can take delivery of her in 2016 as well. http://www.fraseryachts.com/Sale/sale_gallery.aspx?YachtID=Y137_JoO_FL
They have two new projects under construction: an 81m by Andrew Winch and a 47m by H2. The yard has also been sold to Mohammed Al Barwani, the owner of Oceanco.
Wow really that is interesting! Well the 81m project is "Shark" aka NB55. Will be interesting to see if changes/ influnces are going along with the sale. Some kind of knowledge transfer for example..
While we are on Turquoise Yachts, did you see that "Turquoise" has a different hull colour now thanks to a wrap done by a certain company?
Turquoise Yachts just launched a new yacht. More on this. Looks like the 74-meter NB66 with the A.Vallicelli exterior and Ken Freivokh interior.
