    I am trying to find out what is the BOTTOM PLATE thickness of my Aluminum 1975 Roamer 60'...

    I've read somewhere that the side plates are 3/16" of 5086 Alum. and the bottom plate was 1/4" of the same on smaller model Roamers but I don't know if the same thickness were used for the Roamer 60' or not?

    Question was raised by USCG inspection.

    Any quick help is appreciated.

    A 1966 57' Roamer that I sold had 5/16" 5086 plating on hull sides and bottom. Confirmed with audio-gauge testing.

    Was 4086 not the std for marine ala. then ?

    And remember, the rudders are mild steel (not SS) very close to 5086 on the galvanic scale (reduces corrosion).
