About 6nm west of Quebec City (south shore). My office is on a cliff overlooking the St-Lawrence seaway...lots of action out my window, although not always "yacht" related, such as this....
Sounds like a nice place for an office. Keep an eye open for Sycara IV soon I think. I just noticed she's here in Montreal but her next destination according to Marine Traffic is Quebec City.
Let's say it's a home office Thanks for the tip! Had no idea Sycara IV was coming this way. It will be worth a drive to the marina for a close up view.
I'm thinking the same myself... maybe this weekend I'll get down to the Vieux Port and try to get a look. This morning I see Sea Owl is down there too. (It's nothing but a headache going down there though... but hey, what can ya' do?)
Good to see Sycara IV again, brought her down the Welland Canal on her maiden voyage from Burger's factory on September 15/2009 and was good to see Sarabeth again brought her down Welland Canal on her maiden voyage from Burger's factory October 15/2001
Here are some pictures of Sycara IV at Quebec city's marina. Sorry for the average quality, they were taken with my phone.
Well another ship aground in the St. Lawrence River this week. Hope the captain was not drinking some of the cargo. The 107 meter long, 6285 dwt chemical tanker Jo Spirit ran aground on the St. Lawrence River near Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The tanker had suffered engine failure while proceeding int the South Shore Canal. Without power, the Jo Spirit veered off course and struck the canal embankment. No reports of injuries or pollution released. Traffic in the area on the incident was halted on the St. Lawrence River. Two tugs were dispatched to the scene to refloat the tanker. The Jo Spirit was en route to Cuxhaven from Hamilton with a cargo of rum.
It seems that this ship likes that spot as it is reported elsewhere that it is 10 yrs since it ran aground in the same spot.
Well, I googled Cuxhaven and came up with the northern most point of Lower Saxony and found no other Cuxhaven anywhere.
I know where Cuxhaven is having sailed from there a few times when I was younger it was the Canadian Rum in Germany I was not familiar with. Maybe one of the German members can enlighten us.
