"Mary Jean ii" arrived at the Port this morning... and "Callisto" just came in 5 min ago. Callisto has been here for nearly a week sitting offshore the Port St. Charles Marina. So I assume she is at the port to refuel or provision.
She is stunning. I wish I was there to see her. Thanks for posting this. I always enjoy keeping my connection to Barbados though your camera Ron.
Hey Eric, she moved to off Sandy Lane this evening... guests are aboard so, I went and took a couple shots of her there as well. Will post shortly.
Re the Schooner Ruth, here is a link to a very varied assortment of photos taken by Peter Marshall of her launch. http://jalbum.net/en/browse/user/album/1574488 I was there, sitting on the beach and enjoying proceedings - I saw a wee quadcopter flying around, and later found a very neat aerial video of the launch had been posted here http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http://vimeo.com/114397231&h=BAQFIYbe3 For anybody who has a Facebook account (these photos are public), here are some photos I took of Ruth over the years while she was being built - her keel was laid down 15 years ago, and many pundits placed bets over the years saying she would never be completed, but Ian proved them wrong, big time. https://www.facebook.com/martin.smy...10154925056185182.1073741828.736170181&type=3
One of the things that I missed when I moved to The Crane was watching the yacht and ship activity that I enjoyed on the West Coast. Keep em coming Ron.
I'll try to, no superyachts at the port at the moment though, "La Masquerade" is out in Carlisle Bay (off the Hilton) with her guests for the last two days now. I believe "Shemara", and "Our Way" were sitting down off Sandy Lane resort up til yesterday. "Callisto" was off Port St. Charles and "Destination" there as well. Other than that, no major arrivals.
We have the 58-meter CMN "Netanya 8" anchored in Carlisle Bay... I believe this is probably her first time here.
I took this shot of the gorgeous racing schooner "Elena of London" arriving in the Shallow Draught of the Port of Bridgetown about an hour ago. She is in town to take part in the Mount Gay Round the Island Yacht Race.
Hey Ron, I saw an email that "Rena" 145' NQEA 1989 Motor Yacht is headed to Barbados. Keep an eye open for her.
Hey Eric... I can see her on MT right now... Interestingly her destination says "Somewhere Sunny"... and the direction she is going right now doesn't appear to be coming here just yet. Will keep an eye on her though.
