Saw this beauty last week in the back of a yard. Worth saving but it's huge. I looked inside. Termites have taken anything of value inside and the decks are so soft I was afraid I was going to fall through.
Yes, steel Yes, steel. New bottom and out of money. Been there 10 years. Someone here is going to now where this was taken. I would love to take the project on but...........
Located at Broward's yard in Ft. Lauderdale. It's an old Feadship and its about to become recycled metal.
Sad to see Sad to see a stately lady like this go away. There is some heavy machinery on the deck still in the crate and the engines are still in her and in good shape. There has to be someone out there to save her.
It's a Broward Sportfish, also in the bones. See this thread... http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/broward-yacht/1835-broward-sportfish-yacht.html
Another Classic Here is classic Abeking Rasmussen rotting in the Mexican sun, and her rendered ambition. Same old story, high dreams, low cash. This hull is built of corten steel. There is a boatyard just North of the Fort Pierce inlet called "Field of Dreams". No doubt such yards can be found around the globe. And yes, it is sad to watch them go.
It would be really sad to see that classic Feadship scrapped. It looks like the hull and superstructure are in fairly good shape and some painted them and the bottom not too too long ago.
Hi, I forgot abut that thread. What a croc. I am of the opinion that someone else on here nailed it that he was not a native bleating. I would guess SE of So Fl by some good long distance.
The First Mate was the last mate you'd want on deck. Better relegated to the Crow's Nest because he was full of same.
I think the old Feadship was in Charleston for a while sitting at Charleston Harbor Marina for about 2 years. I may be wrong, but she looks really familiar.
Hi, Are you sure it is an Abeking yacht. I have looked at the list of everything they have ever built and do not find any motoryacht around that size that can't be found online and looks different.
Just to add to the confusion, here is a similar thread.. http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/a...1955-abeking-rasmussen-112-classic-yacht.html
Claybeth Yes I am sure, as admittedly I did some extensive research some time back on this my own "Field of Dreams" prospect. Lars, I clearly remember your distaste for the makeover concept. I felt she still retained her classic heart, much like David Japp's Feadship, well, except for the transom. K1W1, she was originally built as Claybeth, then Sharon S, AR No. 6338 in 1971 at 120' loa. http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/general-yachting-discussion/6251-classic-refit-rules.html
