    Summer Love

    I have seen Summer Love in Annapolis a few times.
    She has been M.I.A. lately.
    I found her by chance in a little creek we were exploring about a month ago and came across her yesterday as well.
    She is a 1958 Feadship
    Originally 61 feet and extended to 71'6" later in life.

    Checkmate, Winning Drive and Line Drive

    For Annapolis Yacht Basin, Checkmate is huge.
    I think it is the biggest yacht I've ever seen there.

    The boat in the last picture, with her stern to the Checkmate, is a 46 or so Chris Craft that really looks small in contrast.

    Checkmate has a cruising speed of 14 knots and can be chartered for a base rate of $ 200 K a week.
    We piddled by her in an inflatable and she is a sight to see.
    I would not want to keep her black hull clean but her crew did a great job, it was spotless.

    We were anchored up the Corsica Saturday and Sunday. "Winning Drive" was there at the owner's dock. I think we passed your 46 Post on Sunday in the Chester at about 1 PM when we were headed back to Kent Narrows. I may be wrong, but your second video to me looks like an 85' Pacific Mariner that blew past us headed down river off the South end of Eastern Neck Island.

    I would not argue with you about the Pacific Mariner.
    It is so seldom that we see boats of that size up the Chester that I ASSumed.

    Were you in an aft cabin ?

    Yes. I was aboard my 41 Hatteras TC. My friends were just ahead of me heading down the river in their 48 Hatteras MY.

    Summer Love was built around 88' +/- and extended to 108 +/-. Fiberglass over teak over mahogany over steel frames. 6-110 Detroits (2) tug boat motors

    Ironically we took a picture of a nice Hatteras in St. Michaels in September which was you ?

    Nice Hat. I have not seen too many of them around.

    I Googled Summer Love and found the same info.
    I know she is a small yacht for this web site but I think she is cool looking.
    I had never heard or 6-110's and thought it was a typo.
    I would like to see them, although they prolly look just like an overgrown 6-71.

    I think she looks a little heavy in the bow but I attribute that to the lengthening of her.
    She sorta looks like she's plowing to me when underway.

    I wondered if she was for sale and headed into Annapolis for the boat show.

    Still, she is a traditional kind of yacht that I love to see in person.

    She is a sistership to my 41 Hatt. In fact she is one hull number higher than mine. We are dock neighbors now at Piney Narrows.

    and both of you in P.N. too.

    I saw a really nice older Hat sport fish there.
    Yellow hulled. Looks like someone spent alot of time and money on her.
    Another nice on that I have a pic of somewhere....
