Amels 465 Amels 465 seen here 04/03/2013 ready to be driven into her covered building location at the Amels premises.
What happend to "4You" and "Unity"? Seriously thank you for these great shots guys... she has definitely an interesting paint scheme!! Hard to tell whether the new arrival is an LE 180, perhaps our dutch mates know more? BTW the LE171 "Bel Abri" is now called "Belle Aimee"....
Milow, there are lots of them now, hard to keep track! and yes I know she has a new name, I think i posted that on here sometime ago when she was sold. Anyways I am off to photograph the arrival of the Delta "Seven Js".
The covering has come off the nameboards of the first LE199. She is called "EVENT", of course not like we didn't know that anyways, but it is just official now.
Any one realized that hull 462 has rounded-off windows for the main saloon and sky-lounge? Guess this is a custom feature for this particular owner. The transom door also has two ports in it. AMELS 462 - ShipSpotting.com - Ship Photos and Ship Tracker
Well Spotted! She is the 4th LE180? I prefer the rectangular ones over these rounded-off. The 3rd LE180 which was moved into the shed for outfitting work late 2012 has these ports in the transom door as well.
If I kept up correctly: LE180: 460 Step One (2012) 463 Engelberg (launched March 2nd) 462 This new one with light grey hull (launched 6th or 7th of April) 464 White hulled one that was outside briefly for a reshuffle on 12-20-2012 Series runs up to and including number 467 according to this list: Referentielijst Under construction* - Cramm Yachting Systems
That's alot of boats! Sure to keep the Amels engine running for a few years, and that is just LE180s. They have alot of work with passerelles and ladders! Victory project from Fincantieri and the 710 OceAnco project are some highlights for them there.
Seems like a growth business if you see all the hatches, large doors, moving pool floors, heli platform-garages, folding this and that on bigger yachts. Massive difference compared to the average yacht of around 200 ft of say 20 years ago.
Yes it is true, even the LE180s having hatches now, I think if you look at the same 462 you will see there is a fold down balcony to the master stateroom, I think it is on the port side.
View attachment 58730 And the beach club door and the small platform you can see on the Amels photo (Can't link to any part of their site except "home" alas) It looks spectacular all these hydraulic things, but apart from extra cost, they will require extra maintenance and can cause problems..
As you probably know the Amels' dutch competitor Feadship recently launched the 100m "Madame GU" and is the succesor to the 58m "GU" built by Amels in 2006. However the predeccsor ("GU") is now called "Lady Guilya".... I wonder was she for sale and when was she sold?!
