Just a thought but is there a possibility that the second Sea Axe might be the support for the first LE199? I mean the grey hull is the same and the new Limited editions Mast matches perfectly? *shrugs* what you guys/gals think? http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/amels-yacht/19999-sold-second-amels-67m-sea-axe.html
It would be somewhat surprising getting a support vessel that is bigger than the mothership. "Event" is certainly stunning! A great design, I'm a big fan. On another note, what is the build quality of Amels yachts? This is a somewhat continued question based off of the Icon thread with "flaws in yachts built in Northern Europe for Italian prices". Would Amels be comporable to Icon or a higher standard as they have a higher volume of "limited edition" yachts? Off topic slightly, but how would Heesen also rank in regards to this topic?
Ron, as you said we shall see! germanyachting, I remember the "Allure shadow" fed a San Lorenzo. And regarding the build quality of Amels... well I have no inside knowledge but I guess with these custom built yachts like "Ilona" etc. they have earned some expirience. But also the the success of the Limited Editions line speaks for themself and their quality... they must do something right! Perhaps the quality is closer to Feadship?
There are or have been few vessels around with shadows that are larger than them Ken. It isn't common but they have existed.
Must be a technical reason for those asymmetrical radar positions, but I can't think of one The large number of white vertical poles surrounding the sun decks surprised me most: I think they have to provide extra privacy? They were added recently, perhaps they are removable?
Hi, The radars are mist likely off centre like that to reduce the masking directly astern which they would be subject to should they both be in the same centre fore and aft line.
But then we should see such a configuration on many other yachts? Why would EVENT be different? Because the exhausts are located within the mast?
Hi, A lot of yachts have exhausts in the mast, a lot of yachts also have shadow areas in the radar displays caused by this. Some yachts and ships have a scanner facing aft to get around this. Just because you have radars it should not stop you looking around outside particularly behind you when underway.

I'm sure those are the poles for the sun shades/awnings and as on most yachts they should be removable.
Actually I think one or two yachts have it like that. The new Alloy "Cary Ali" had hers in the renders straight forward as conventional yet in reality they stuck them off to the side. Her mast is thick so that definitely would create some blind spots aft if they were placed normally. http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/alloy-yacht/19772-new-launch-alloy-39m-expedition-cary-ali.html
"Event" has been out on sea trials and here is a nice AIS graphic I saw on David's website...19.3-knots has been the alleged top speed thus far.
Video of "Engelberg": Dutchmegayachts.com: Amels' 55 meter (180 ft) megayacht Engelberg in Vlissingen - YouTube (She was launched yesterday evening)
Some more images of Engelberg Saturday 02/03/2013 #463 (Engelberg) was driven out of the building location onto a pontoon for later refloating at Flushing East. Sunday 03/03/2013 she was towed back to the Amels premises.
Event trials EVENT left the building location 04/02 and was moored at the Amels jetty. 07/02/2013 she conducted her first trials inside the harbour.
Finally one with a dark hull colour, other than "Deniki" and "Bel Abri" and "ADdiction" I was thinking this is getting boring with so many all white boats of the LE171/77/80 series. It looks good on her.
