While we're at it... The helipad looks like that of Pelorus, but it is poped-up unlike the resessed version on Pelorus (Probably because of the size difference), and I feel the bridge here is less rounded and covered more. Again, dictated by the size.
Along with the announcement of the new flagship of the Hakvoort line, a 61-meter superyacht, a few interior pics have surfaced.
What's the news on build number 247? I would like to think she should be in a state to be launched soon?
New build for Hakvoort and their largest...I can't help but say it looks like a slightly more classic version of the Trinity "New Horizon" project. An editorial coming on this... For the time being, your thoughts?...
Perhaps it will look different in person. You know sometimes yachts look better in reality than in render and often times the other way around too! but I find that the Trinity looks better because of the extra length balancing it out. This is shorter and appears more stacked. Rene van der Velden is the exterior designer. BTW the editorial on her has been uploaded, check the New Builds and launches thread or the Hakvoort thread.
I was really surprised when I saw the news on their site: I was expecting info on YN247! Fantastic news: in the current economic times signing such an important order after their 200ft other new build is very, very good! (Not all northern European yards have full orderbooks...) I really like the styling, a versatile ship like yacht. Doesn't look like a standard charter boat, which is a big plus I think. Great explorer / expedition look! Will be a challenge for them to launch it: already a part of the local marina had to be demolished so bigger yachts can leave the yard!
A great looking yacht!! It's the bigger version of the 114 Moonen explorer "My Issue" The front has a little resemblance of Lurssens ex"Carinthia IV" now called "The One" Rene van der Velden has some truly gentlemans designs. What can i say............Dutch!!!
Nothing mythical about this design but her Project name is 'Zeus'. I still am not in-love with the design...looks too...stocky/fat.
The Hakvoort "Solaia" has just left the Caribbean...she is on her way to Gibraltar at a very slow...just over 8-knots. They will definitely spend some time at sea!
YN247 "Apostrophe" launched 13 April I took this picture of the YN247 today. Also visible in the photo is the works on the "shed" to make it even longer. Also see: Launch MY Apostrophe (YN247): Hakvoort Shipyard If anyone needs detailed pictures, please let me know while she is still "in my backyard".
The mast looks really nice on her! I expected it to look good but sometimes you know, rendering is one thing, reality is another. Thanks Arlinde, nice to see you again!
