Yachting sure is one place where you can make some crazy temporary jerry rig repairs and nobody will say anything bad about it. Just let the AC go down one hot day out at anchor and see how nobody cares how you got it back up on line But I think this thread makes a for another good topic. Emergency repair supplies. This is besides a good spare parts inventory, proper tool count and all the safety equipment in place. But some of the essential extras that have proven very useful in bad situations which usually happen at 2 AM: 1 Assortment of wooden plugs 2 Rescue tape Rescue Tape - World's #1 Brand of Silicone Tape! lots of it, it's cheap and effective 3 Assortment of bronze fittings from 1/4 to 3/4" nipples, street elbows, T's, plugs.. ect. 4 Hand held laser heat thermometer 5 Assortment of gasket material and sizes 6 Various size hydraulic water bladders you screw on to a hose to unblock pipes/plumbing 7 Extra fire blankets 8 Welders gloves for dealing with hot items 9 Tie wraps and various size smaller diameter line for securing the unexpected 10 Black clothe tape used for A/C rubetex installation, really good stuff 11 Epoxy sticks that you roll the putty in your hand and repair with 12 Assorted adhesives and the all knowing 5200. Why is it called 5200? I was told because once you open the tube you will get it in 5200 different places
