I have used Peterson fuel several times in recent years and there prices are usually best or close to. They seem to have fresh fuel and can deliver large or medium amounts of fuel. they deliver from a barge.
If you can get delivery by truck try Anchor Petroleum 954-764-2407, they are around $4.20 a gallon depending on how you pay. Peterson's 954-764-3835 quoted me $3.89 a gallon for 5,000 gallons delivered by barge in Ft Lauderdale. Pier 66 954-525-6666 is $4.76 a gallon. Bahia Mar 954-764-2233 is $4.81 a gallon. Depending on how much you need and how you are paying will affect cost, best to call for your own quote as prices change frequently. If you google "marine diesel fuel prices florida" you will find several sites listing diesel prices that are fairly current. Let your fingers do the walking!
I have to say that I'm amazed with the amount of info that a person can pull from this forum with a simple search or question. The BEST by far of any site I have visited. I'd like to thank all the pro's that take their time to provide the info....THANK YOU !
I'm surprised that Petersons was much less than Anchor, did you ask Anchor for the price based on the same 5,000 gallons? I usually use Anchor for most all of my fueling.....
Thanks all. Went with Peterson's, they were 3.98 per gallon. Anchor was 8 cents cheaper, but were busy till Friday. Still tons better than marina prices. Great site!
Years ago, Broward Oil delivered fuel to us several times from Boyton to Pompano. They treated us very well and fair. Not a clue how they treat there customers now or price, But if they have the same good business spirit now as then, you should be happy. Pilot delivers fuel to us now in Jax Fl. We are very happy with them also. If your cruising the east coast needing thousands gallons of fuel (vs. stationed in s. fl), You may want to broaden your shopping window. I think the fuel in Jax may be a few cents cheaper. Maybe cheaper in other places.
I found the prices on a fuel tracking website and had to call Peterson's since their listing did not have a recent price. When I called he asked how many gallons I wanted so I picked 5,000 out of the air not knowing what the poster needed.
I bought all my fuel down there by truck, as I stayed at marinas that allowed it (with a surcharge) I always got the best price and excellent service from Land and Sea.
I'm not sure how petersons does it but they've always been cheaper than the truck, at least that's been my experience. Call ahead though, the last few times I fueled up they only had a thousand or so gallons on board.
It depends on the volume you need. Peterson's holds 10,000 gallons whereas the trucks only hold 3200-3500 gallons usually. So if it's more than the 3200 gallons and they need to make several trips I can see it being more expensive, than Peterson's making a single trip. They might also get a volume discount when they buy since they can take a larger quanitity at a time.
Yes, but they can take it from a tractor trailer (6200) gallons and there is a price break between that and the 3 axle tank truck that holds 1/2 that.
Peterson's has a very informative website Peterson Fuel Delivery that answers most if not all questions being asked here except price. For prices you of course need to call with your specific requirements, type of fuel, amount of fuel, location, schedule, method of payment, etc.
I just took fuel from Anchor today, my price was $3.79 a gallon under 500 gallons and paying with c.c.
Anchor Here is Anchor's website: Anchor Petroleum, Inc. They will deliver as little as 200 gallons of fuel and you can order by phone, fax, or email!
