The port Everglades webcam http://www.portevergladeswebcam.com/ is showing a yacht transport taking off boats this morning. Pretty cool if you have never seen it! You can click on the User Controlled Webcam to view yourself. The transport is to the stern of Jew of the Seas.
So Sorry for My Faux Pas! So sorry for my typo, I was in a hurry leaving the house and wanted to post this so some folks would be able to see the unloading. The transport is about 1000 feet astern of JEWEL of the Seas. There are two sail boats left on deck yet to be unloaded.
Might be Yacht Express... I had a boat on board Super Servant 4, which we off-loaded on Easter Sunday. It was my first ride with Dockwise and I must say that it was an all-around exceptional experience. From the scheduling to loading to updates while she was at sea... all the way through owners meeting, customs clearance to final release. Great communication, great service - highly recommended.
Do you have any pictures you can post of the experience? Was is a float on or crane on vessel? What size, type of boat do you have, where did you move her from, and what did it cost?
A few shots from on board as Super Servant 4 is ballasted down. I was forward on the vessel, my bow to aft, against the house, as the first boat on in Toulon. 1st shot; forward to the stern of SS4 2nd shot: aft to the forward house of SS4 that loomed over me 3rd shot: flying her new American Flag (picked it up at Walgreens walking over from the Dockwise Offices to the Port) 27 meters, and the price was remarkably; the best quoted.
Awesome shots! Thanks! So as SS4 blows her ballast I assume they block the first boat whose keel is about to touch down, then each, one by one, until the last is on blocks? Any shots of that process?
Slideshow of the Loading Process The Dockwise folks have a neat slideshow showing the process on their website here: http://www.yacht-transport.com/downloads/files/How Does It Work Presentation April 2009.pdf I second the good comments. I have had them do several repositionings with different boats and found them to be extremely professional every step of the way. Only once were they late arriving due to weather (not their fault). They kept me updated at least daily as to their ETA. It gave me a couple of extra days in St Thomas before taking delivery and heading on to St Maarten. No problem!
