Interesting looking vessel. Do you know who built it? A google search of the name comes up with a death metal band and this image:http://www.gojira-music.com/ This may be even better on that bow. Looks like a good vessel to drop snag lines from.

Death metal bands have that kind of money? Must be some other explanation.

OK, as YF is a dedicated site for Yachting Professionals, I expect many members see red when a Captain and crew act in a way that does not go with the Rules of the Sea & whatever else is right for professional seamen.

But I see another angle:
Blatant CRUELTY, DISHONESTY and CORRUPTION on the part of the whalers deserves a response as drastic as their arrogant disregard for what they are doing to the oceans most intelligent creatures.

Now I will wait for the broadsides and put on a firesuit!

I suspect much of the disrespect towards sea sheperds is their own doing.

They apparently have no idea how much oil leaked. A range of 21 million to 184 billion? That is like saying the temp outside will range from 5 to 95 degrees.

And as for BP causing the spill, even Obama's committee to investigate the spill came to the conclusion that BP did not cause it by using inferior parts and equipment. We still haven't heard anyone apologize to BP. I doubt we ever will.

This is the problem with environmental activists. Their cause may be good, but their actions rarely win anyone over.

I can't imagine myself working on one of their boats for free. They don't even take responsibility if any of the crew are hurt. That comes out of your own pocket.

Have you for one moment considered that it was the error and/or ommission of the BP rep on site who shares a great deal of responsibility along with the Trans Ocean technical people for that spill, if not all, since he allowed the flawed process to continue? Not all disasters are the result of material failure, most are the result of poor judgement and flawed decision making along with a disregard for the consequences of that behavior.

It will be a cold day before anyone ever need apologize to the perpetrators of that fatal tragedy.

It's amazing, the hypocrisy of the groups that almost wiped whales off the planet in a matter of a few generations criticizing those who sustainably harvested for centuries and continue to do so...

Hunting whales to extinction in one area after another for whale oil and so that ladies could have corset stays; doing disgusting work for months at a time for little and often no pay only to make the ship owners rich is "noble"? Kidnapping men off the docks to make slaves of is "noble"? 'Desperate history' would be more accurate.

Oh please! I'm afraid you'd have to blame Bush & the GOP for that since they held complete control of the Congress and the Senate and the AG's office and the Executive branch until a year & a half ago. Could it be that the majority of the nation didn't agree with their thinking? Otherwise what stopped them? Surely not some liberal, tree-hugging lobbyists who only had the power of the people.
BTW, isn't this a thread about Sea Shepherd's new vessel? There is another about BP's oil spill. I don't think we have a political forum either although some keep trying to open one. Have a sip of tea and let's get back on topic.
