    Hi All,
I am looking for some general information with respect to bareboat chartering in either the Bahamas or the BVI. I have chartered once before in the Whitsunday Islands of Australia. I was nervous at first but by the second day it was pretty easy. I want to take my two daughters for 5-6 days. I live in Toronto and getting to either the Bahamas or BVI is not bad. Bahamas may be closer. I am looking to go in February.
If someone could give me a little guidance on any differences that might make a difference on chartering in either spot. I am also open to other locations if they can be suggested. Are there any things that I should know such as weather or tradewinds etc. I thank you for any information you can provide
    Thanks Benjie

I think the BVI is a much better cruising ground than the Bahamas. I hope you're a good sailor though, it will be very windy in BVI in February. I like them both and lived on St. Croix in the USVI for ten years.

I agree, I think the BVI's are nicer. However the Exumas, Bahamas are very nice especially around the Sampson Cay area.

They are and I like the Abacos too but if I could only do one I think I would charter a boat out of Tortola.
