A much better alternative to EarthNC is activecaptain.com since it combines google earth imagery and NOAA charts. Plus a ton of user contributed info

the best planning tool. I use it a lot and it's anow available with Charts n Tides on iPhone. No need to look up marina nrs in guides!

I stand corrected, there are at least twice as many ways to use Google Maps & Earth to navigate the coastal waters than those of which I had previously known.

Don't I feel foolish now!

You guys are funny!
Anyway, sorry for my silence. Kids events back to back all weekend kept me from the computer.
First, home port is in fact Ricerside Yacht Club, just inside Capt. Harbor & Capt's Is.
Thanks to all! NYCapt, I'll be in touch shortly. I have to drive up to J&J tomorrow for a few odds and ends & I'll find out exactly when it will be good to go.

Thanks to NYCapt. for being on standby!
I ended up squeezing out time to run up on a Thurs. night a few weeks ago & running down Friday a.m.
It amounted to a 4-1/2 hr run.
