In 2017 the owner said he planned to give away most of his fortune when he founded the REV Ocean initiative.

Looks like that plan is moving along nicely.

Most of it will be a yacht like interior, the rest will be pretty decent. It's a very sneaky way for a super wealthy individual to build a massive yacht and get grants from a charitable foundation to pay for it.

The boat was part of it, there was also a building as well. I think he's still waiting on planning permission.

the REV Ocean have gone through the surgery at a Norwegian yard and are now 12 meters longer.

To be honest for me this really isn’t a luxury yacht and I don’t consider this the longest yacht in the world. This seems more of a scientific and research vessel than a luxury/ explorer yacht. I doubt it even gets used like the typical private yacht ever.

Curious if the extended bow sprit and the excessive bulb-bow had something to do with the “longest”, in addition to the 12 meter extension of course.

Will Rev be commercial finished exterior paint-wise ( as per current trend ) or will they get superyacht finishing on Superstructure only( again as per current trend)?
