    Luhrs 32 open. Salt water under the kitchen table. Side compartments are dry. Is it possible the boat leans forward and bilge water flows forward sitting on the mooring. Is the bilge/ engine room sealed between the forward birth?

    I have a Luhrs 30 and boat definitely pitches a little forward. I get water in the cabin bilge.

    The hull shape is deeper forward than aft.
    This may ad a lil more buoyancy also but then turns into a teeter-todder (fore/aft) depending on hull loading.

    Similar to other boats we have been on, I would guess you kids have gas boats and light on fuel when this becomes an issue.

    There are weeps fore/aft for water to drain the length of the boat. Don't try to plug these.

    I remember adding a low water pickup, diaphragm bilge pump forward on an old Bertram to help keep the bilge odors out of the cabin.
    Near 40 years ago we also learned about A/C condensate water and re-directing it to the new shower sump (with cover).
    Keeping rudder and shaft logs dry and stopping rain, wash water from getting into the hull (ER vents).
    No more sloshing and stinky bilge water forward.

    Full of fuel and water further helped but after we removed the tower, the forward bilges stayed dry.
    Sleeping on the boat turned into a pleasure then.

    Just typing along here kids, hopefully offering some thoughts.

    Thank you for the reply. I run a charter service. With six guys on The aft deck, I can run all day and the forward birth floor Stays dry. After a day of fishing, we wash the entire boat down. store our gear in the cabin. Which I get that there’s more weight up forward now then the stern.
    It will sit out on the morning for a day or two before the next use, and I have to vacuum over a gallon of water out from under the kitchen table.
    I always run with full fuel and water. As soon as I get up on plane on my next trip, the stern automatic bilge pump will cycle on and off. When it sits on the Mooring, my mid ship, bilge is dry, but my shower drain container is full, which is in the same compartment.
    I guess my question is is there anyway of sealing off the forward cabin to keep the water out to the edges so I can keep a dry cabin?

    There should be lubber holes all thru your bilged. Plugging one or two is not going to help and could offer new problems.

    A small, low water pick up pump will probably be the safest,, easiest fix.

    I believe it’s not coming in the boat. I believe bilge water is moving forward when it sits on the mooring. I can vacuum it out of the carpet under the kitchen table the next day and it’s dry following day.
    I get water on the back deck and goes into the stern deck fish box. ( backing down on fish).
    All my fishing gear is stored on the forward bunk..
