    Hi,

I know of boats costing 70 times that amount where there is an upcharge for a proper cable reel.

Do builders really think the crew or owner is going to want to haul around a 50ft 50 amp or 100 amp cable?!

    Hi,

The boats I am talking about have at least 4 Shore Power Cables as each conductor is separate, if they were all in one cable they would be too heavy and stiff to move with anything lass than a machine.

They do not get to plug in very often and it is a major effort when this happens so it is not really a big deal.

Part of the yards argument for no reel is the risk of having the cable powered up while still coiled around the reel and that they can't get a reel with Slip Rings that can handle the current.

Boston Whaler? Sunseeker? One thing about boats and boating , there's an exception for every rule.

I know this is a really old thread but if anyone around wanted to check if the new Azimuts still have poor reputation. I’m looking at 2022-2023 Azimuts in the 70-80 foot range.

    Welcome to Yacht Forums.

I noted your post this morning.
Made a bet with my self; I won the bet.
    Lots of responses here....

We have some Mut fans in here.
These kids have fixed all their Mut issues and now have good boats.
Don't think any Marine Max fans in here either. MM just made the azimuts mess worse.

When you find your ship, please post it here and tell us about it.
Our YF members are everywhere and may even know something about what your looking at, even if it is a Mut.

Yes. Nothing has changed. Buy some extra buckets, you'll need them for the water leaks in the salon and elsewhere and have a marine electrician on speed dial.

Never had any water intrusion in any part of my 2012 53 Fly. Even that hellacious rain event last year in Hollywood FL. Azimut makes a very tight boat if mine is any indicator.

The new ones are nothing like yours as far as water leaks go. Yours were notorious in leaking on those sliding side windows in the front helm area.

Thanks for the info. I'll look out for that, but so far, so good!

There aren't many of those to choose from in the US right now. Only 4 I believe.
