Freelance Captain for Hire

Nice presentation and a great website, but I didn’t see the resume of experience.
Probably a good idea to include it.

Your experience is more valuable than anything else, especially if you have a clean record with no accidents, incidents, violations and/or owner complaints.

I detail my resume with boat type/size and day’s operated and provide references on request.
(Happy previous owner’s/customers are your meal tickets for the future)
Also get letter’s of recommendation from Captains you have worked for, Brokers you have worked with, etc.

I also list boats I have owned, including areas of sailing and NM miles sailed, recreational and/or commercial. (I had a small charted company with 2 boats, a 27’ twin outboard and a 28’ inboard diesel. I used the boats for pleasure cruising Florida and the Bahamas, but also commercial doing On-Demand Charters, like an Uber on a Keel.)

I can dig up one of my resumes and send you, but retired now so nothing is current or of much relevance.

I have gotten quite a few gigs and work right here at this website without really advertising, just reading and chatting with guys AND girls.

Nah, this is the new digital world and since you are advertising your services online you should also include some basics of your experience.

This don’t quite cut it:

Seasoned Captain: 10 years experience at least?
Doing what?

(If you drove the pump-out poop boat around the mooring fields for 3 years and started as dock hand, that is great and I for one do respect coming up through the hawsepipe, but if you also have experience with twin diesel 50’ Sea Rays, let the potential customers know about it)
