I'm in the real estate rental business and since no one inked a lease no one best find his way into it. On the other hand a her might find a different result.

Be careful buying "stainless" on Amazon. In my experience it's mostly cheap Chinese junk and will rust FYI. Hit up Defender, go2marine or even Zoro and look for 316

Thanks for the heads up. After returning several various ones from Amazon that claimed they were stainless but would not pass the magnet test due to being, as you stated, cheap Chinese pre-rust regular steel or not the size described, found new old stock of same brand on eBay to arrive by Wed. Originally made by SouthCo, the company emailed me a list of stocking distributers and said they had only ever been sold in polished stainless silver so the one I bought will need to be painted white to match the door and the others. Please advise if you know of any prep "tricks" to having the paint stick. I have a quart of matching Awlcraft 2000 I plan to use after roughing up the surface but was thinking probably best to find some Awlgrip primer.

If you want paint to stick to the stainless I would do your best to lightly rough it up with a little fine sandpaper and then wipe it with degreaser or brake parts cleaner. Then probably spray painting is your best bet for the hardware bits

Epoxy primer over 220 grit etching, then your Awlcraft.

But what is wrong with polished stainless?

I usually use a metal etch on metals prior to primer after sanding. Check OSPHO for ferris metals, including stainless (it's the one currently in my garage, but there are others).

It would not match the other 2 that were painted white to match their doors. Think I'm going to enjoy the extra cabinet space as much as the grill.

Did I miss what you used for backer to fill the top around the grill. And the shelf. Starboard?

The shelf is wood and the top, some type of material with a strange to me name I had never heard of and forgot but came from a local yard that builds custom boats. I have it written down someplace and will find it. Both covered with Awlgrip. Waterproof GFCI arrived and half wired. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C41NQ3WD?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Top material is 1/4" Fiberglass Greenboard with Awlcraft 2000. Cabinet door is the piece that was cut out so same gelcoat. After purchasing & returning several Chines Junk latches eventually found one from original USA manufacturer that passed the stainless magnet test.
