Greetings from a fellow sea lover and a new Viking Yacht owner! I'm writing to you with much excitement and a dash of hope. I've recently embarked on a thrilling journey with what appears to be a 1985 Viking 41 Convertible, distinguished by its tuna tower and outriggers. The vessel's serial number is VKY41720M84A. My plan is to lovingly convert this yacht into a unique scuba diving boat, which will also serve as my personal classroom for various sea activities and experiences. The sea has always been a part of my life, but owning a yacht of this size and beauty is a new adventure for me. While I've been around boats all my life, this Viking Yacht is my first venture into owning and restoring a vessel of such grandeur. The yacht arrived without any documentation, leaving me intrigued and eager to uncover its past and potential. I'm reaching out to this knowledgeable community in hopes of finding any information, technical drawings, or specifications related to this model. Your insights would be invaluable in my quest to transform this yacht into a haven for scuba enthusiasts and sea adventurers alike. Any assistance, advice, or shared experiences you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I am excited about this restoration and eager to connect with fellow Viking Yacht enthusiasts who share a passion for the sea and its endless adventures. Thank you in advance for your help and for being part of this journey. Warm regards, Harid_Makrom Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
I alradey started working on the engine its in somewhat good condition but needs alot of new stuff ... its the detroit marine desiel 300 × 2 . I also have a somewhat new electrical generator
Sounds like you have Detroit 671 natural engines which can have a very long lifespan if they are reasonably cared for.
They have two new turbos installed by the previous owner ... I will snap a close up once it's cleaned up . But a friend is a good marine mechanic and he is helping out in this part and he sayes the engines are newer than the boat . I need more help on the body kits and redesign
