Call up your local Volvo shop with serial number.
You may get some warranty urgency. But the kids with the laptop need to visit.

They have visited. Unable to reset or calibrate any functions. Giving multiple false errors. Cannot operate the boat. That was 10 days ago. Dead silence.

One comment was it was acting as if struck by lightning. Not likely.

Also found water in 1 transmission. Said it was going to have to be hauled. Wonder how vp will handle the charges. Boat has 100 fresh water hours. Took delivery October 2020. New build.

    Typical silence of meat-heads.
This was a real Volvo shop or some pukes from a authorized marina.
If they are the only shop, your going to have to call them again and ask what is the plan of repairs.

    Good luck

60 months for major components which includes transmissions. No reference to seals or shop charges.
    Going to discuss with shop.

If evc is a computer like mother board I'm hoping it can be replaced as one piece or modules. No reference in warranty.

Fortunately it's a legitimate vp certified shop. Good guys. 3 techs with up to date vp training. But they do get overwhelmed. We have a good relationship. When I reported the problems they sent 2 guys next day with the laptop. It was a Sunday. 60 miles from where boat docked. I'm going to the shop Wed unannounced to get an update. Have to see how it goes. Thanks for your comments.

EVC errors can come from the controls (throttles/clutch), wire harness, electronic control module, displays, servos and sensors.
    All on a VP can-bus.
Damaged/wet wires or connections is probably high on the error list and where I would start looking if your with nothing to do.

The control module usually is programed by the tech per your install environment.

    Welcome to fly by wire.

These events remind me why I luv my 45 year old mechanical Detroits.

    When did it last work?
Anybody around the equipment and then it stop working?
    Leaning/stepping on some wires?
In the bilges with a water hose?

Lots of engine compartment work done recently. Entire starboard drive line pulled to swap a failed generator. After that completed did couple day seatrial. Chased down a few items. Certainly could have damaged other items. 5 hr trip back to marina all functions operating. This trouble showed up next time out. Also noticed control pad for dps and joy stick had broken buttons. All makes your thoughts on problem sources logical. Going to mention to shop techs.

Bad buttons and/or loose connect coming apart from vibration in 5 hours would not be un-realistic.
A wet connect getting warm and starting to corrode (turn green) a micro amount could do it in 5 hours also.

Same guys move the gen-set are the VP techs?
Time to start rounding everybody up.
Somebody's got to go to da bank, Ben.. Not you.

    Same techs to the man.
The money comment is right on. I've been paying for much of the work. Cooperation but not paying for it is my thoughts. Got hit big on the generator. Boat builder and generator manufacturer thru me out to sea with a weight belt.

It was a Kohler. Prox 100 troubled hours. Final offer was unacceptable. This after months of the boat being out of service. Ended up putting in another manufacturer product at our expense.

Sucked diesel into crankcase. Kohler replaced many parts, particularly those that were associated with the fuel system. Injectors were a part of the effort. Never determined cause. Nor would they provide assurance the problems would not recur. Yet they wanted it put back in the boat. Now way!
