This could make a nice addition to a ditch bag, as long as you are in deep enough water. It uses a reel to drop the canister to 300-500 meters where the pressure desalinates 1.5 liter of water in 5 minutes.

Probably nice cold water too :)

Less than 1,000 TDS doesn't seem very good. For $150 might be worth a try.

Good find, Pascal! Fresh thinking on drinking.

You're going to hate this, Carl. But I would bet $ that Pascal found that through Facebook ads.
Am I right, Pascal? It's been popping up for a few days.

Lol… yea. I had to go open the website in a browser. and then copy the link to that specific page just to keep Carl happy :).

The concept is neat but will it work as advertised? Who knows.

That's a lot of line to reel in for a drink of water.

Indeed. But beats having to use a hand pump in a life raft!

What else you got to do drifting in a raft and thirsty?
Now, put a glow stick on it, 10' of leader, good sized hook and a strip of your buddies finger.

This product hit my inbox a while ago & had my attention, except for one detail. It works on the pressure of a deep drop, as in 330 metres/1100 feet minimum. Definitely good for emergencies if sailing the deep ocean, but not for normal emergency potable water on any sea.
