I recently came across a listing for a Covey Island pilothouse yawl (38), I have done some googling and have come up rather empty on information. (I'm reasonable sure anyone who googlrs "covey island pilothouse" will find one of the listings for this boat that is on the US northestast coast, but also believe links are not allowed for something like this.

Anyway, info on this model would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Unlike mass produced SeaRay boats where manuals, information, data sharing clubs are all many,
Custom or one-off builds will not have much of a public interest or available data to pile up on the web.

Hopefully, a YF member is familiar with the build and can comment from his personal experience.

I would recommend contacting the designer or designer's designate for details.

I did find reference to another 38 pilothouse from Covey Island--someone who had a 38 and ordered a 48--so I didn't think it was 100% custom, I thought there might be a few hulls with custom interiors or the like. But, maybe this was a one-off.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I see a 48 motorsailor. If that is the boat, I am told she may need a repower in the not too distant future. Looks well built

It's not a 48. The boat's name is Aura III. From the listing:

1986 Covey Island 38’ LOD Pilothouse Yawl, designed by Spencer Lincoln. Custom built cruising sailboat constructed with a 1 1/8” thick spruce, edge nailed, strip-planked and West epoxy/10oz fiberglass hull and plywood and West epoxy/fiberglass decks and cabin.

I now think I remember seeing that boat on a Wood Boat site. She had an awful lot of windows as I remember her? I assume she is well built, and well designed given her provenance, but the windows bothered me

Yes, it does have a lot of windows now that you mention it.
