I’m the proud owner of two relics when I get around to it I’ll post a picture of my 1974 Chris craft Dory that I race around in.

I'm going to have to do some digging through old photo albums (or shoe boxes?) for the proof, but I think I may have you all beat for "smallest boat".

Bass boat butt seats on high low pedestals at the helm.
You don’t want to sit down in the original captains chairs when I’m driving.
Also the original captains chairs see you too low to safely drive the boat I’m going fast you can’t really see over the bow properly.

I have another boat! Best boat I've ever owned. Haven't spent a dime on maintenance in 15 years!

This one is still in the family, currently sitting in the family garage awaiting a full restoration.

Oh what a pretty lady, The boat also.

I was was just starting my drive thru the FL roads this morning, two Hackars (like) were tied up at the Palatka docks early this morning. I was starting to turn around till my co-pilot (Wife, Josie) reminded me of today's schedule.

I believe that is my Great Aunt sitting on the boat in front a family property on the St. Clair River.

Here's my first boat... like I said, small!

Pretty sure it was a Glen L Minimax, or some variation thereof, with a 6hp Evinrude.

Growing up my dad's boat was a 14' Sidewinder with one of those pseudo-art-deco Mercury outboards (80hp). I never got to drive that one alone.

My second boat (ok, technically my dad's, but really... I used it a hundred times more than he ever did) was a 12' Lucat with a 30hp Suzuki. I got to use that one when I outgrew the yellow 8' "hydroplane", but only when I could prove that I was able to start the motor cold.

That little Lucat looks fun but the hydro is bad @$$! Back in the 80s I was dating the daughter to Alan Vordemier who had a 5-litre hydroplane. I had a chance to turn a few laps at the Miami Marine Stadium in one of his boats but I chickened out! Years later, I had the opportunity to drive one of Craig Barrie's F-1 back up boats that he used to promote Cigarette powerboats on the F-1 circuit. By far one of the scariest things I've ever done!

Looking for more pics from the past, I came across another boat I raced; a 26' Creative Native named the Graped Ape. Had a pair of 2.5 Bridgeports. Narrow beam boat that swallowed up swells. This was around 1997. Hard to believe it's been 26 years! My GF at the time giving her approval of the driver...

Mine is not as speedy as most.
After a few rowboats as a kid, I bought my first real speed boat.

This is a 15 foot Cutter Brothers with a 35 hp Evinrude engine


I sold that and bought a 13 foot Glasspar G-3
Similar to this one but mine was screaming yellow awlgripped with a 90 hp Johnson outboard. I cannot find one picture of that boat though.
That thing would chine walk at the slightest puff of air but it was fun

It's a 1950 Chris Craft Riviera with a non stock 327 Chevy engine
It would pull three skiers effortlessly and leak like a sieve afterwards.

It's a 25 foot Trojan Sea Raider that we had a blast on
When we first looked at this boat, in a shed in the North East river, I remember my wife ( girlfriend then )coming into the cabin, seeing the the little sink, the little dinette and Vee berth and the head , she said " I could get used to this "
And THAT was the beginning of the end for both of us.

We went on to a Trojan F-30, then an F-32 and then to this:

This is a Trojan F-36 that we loved.
360 Chryslers that loved to run.
We really did think we would never buy another boat until this came along

This is probably my last boat.
I have too much into it and we both love it too much to bail out.
We've considered bigger now and then but this boat suits us really well so we think we'll keep her.

Your Post is really nice . Cheaper to keep her. You know what you’ve got , no hidden surprises like you get with a new used boat. We both don’t have time for that nonsense anymore.
I’ve also considered a larger , different boat, but being the Yachting bottom feeder that I am, I really don’t want to take on another restoration project.
The two old tubs I own know are plenty to keep me busy.
