Got as far as Fernandina Beach from Jacksonville and blew an oil line on the new turbo. Back at Huckins now...

Yes, that was Dragon Lady. I don’t believe the turbo was damaged. Huckins had replaced the turbo but I’m guessing not the oil line. Waiting for that and several other things to get repaired. Would love to get her home to CT, but need to make sure we do it safely

another question, how does she handle open waters?

I was aboard SHADY LADY about 7 years ago, and she was in nice shape, but she sold shortly thereafter, and I am not sure she has had the same level of care. The problem is that max value is about $150,000 for these boats, which is about the same as repainting the boat and refinishing the wood.

for all those current and past owners, how does the 52 handle 3'-5' chop and swells?

I have been out in a reasonable chop on a 52, and felt she handled it surprisingly well, particularly into the seas. As they are skinny, I think they would move around quite a lot at rest in a beam sea. They are not offshore boats, just coastal cruisers. One long time 44 owner told me they were horrendous in a following sea, but he liked all other aspects of his East coast US experience.
