Attached please find latest copy of "Known Survivors". Encompasses all Roamers we have found to exist today. Sorry about the .txt format - it was the only one that would load here. OWNERS/ROAMER SPOTTERS: CHECK over the list and see if you see your boat and/or any others that you know about. There's a 50 cent reward for all new "additions" - $1.00 if it includes a hull# Cheers! Roamer I saw a Roamer in Solomons, Md. It had a hard shell on the aft deck, almost didn't recognize it as a Roamer. Know anything about it?
Just Purchased 1962- 32' Roamer Hull#rxb-320124r . Can't Wait To Put In Water. Anyone Else W/ Similar Boat. Drop Me A Line
ANother one rides the bus... Added her - and will be publishing an updated list shortly (Have "found" a total of 288 Roamers). If anybody wants a copy in the Excel format, just email me: alloyed2sea@yahoo.com CHeers! Eric
There's a member in our yacht club with a handsome 57' Roamer 1966 model. She is the former "Lazy Bones" currently named Bella Nave'. Is she in your list?
She's a Brick! Ouuhh! Quite the fine Roamer, no? Didnt realize this one had changed handz - but he's one lucky guy indeed. Got her down for a silver anniversary award, but unfortunately no hull # (darn). Shame really - that one is a certain "millenium" cruiser (year 3000 AD ). Wish I'd make it so long sailing on Earth. Meanwhile, hope all is well at Kent Narrows. Cheers! Eric "Tin Tonic" (nowonlyificouldpaintthebottomwithoutgettingablativepaintinmyhair- sheesh!)
Restoring 57 foot 68 mod. Roamer Hull#RMS 57 0501R Would appreciate any info. about her.thanks,Capt. Morgan
57 Roamer Well, we certainly appreciate the hull #, and can tell you that she's a "steelie". Some more technical data can be found here: http://www.reocities.com/alloyed2sea/Motoryacht_Riviera_57.html But we have nothing in the records about this particular boat (name?) - sorry to say. Wonder if you have you actually seen her & where that might have been. Jim Wyck at www.chris.parts probably helped build her and is always very helpful with good advice. Hope all turns out well. Cheers! Eric
used roamer i just bough a used 1971 38ft hull#rxb380002r.any info on her? is the interior woodgrain formica paneling original, or is it an add on? craig m
Interiors Craig - Formica was the "wave of the future" which CC began to use in the late 60s. No surprise your Roamer (name?) has it. The good (gudder?) news is that - should you wish for a warmer, more "real" wood interior, now you can apply your own wave-of-the-future: Pressure Sensitive Adhesive - (PSA) backed veneer: all, in any one of a number of wood finishes. See more here: http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?sku=2213&cs=1 http://www.vandykes.com/subcategory/246/ http://www.formwood.com/product_info.php/cpath/1/products_id/11 http://www.tapeease.com/Home.htm https://www.ovisonline.com/store/wood_veneers.asp Many other suppliers on the web as well... Methods: http://www.oakwoodveneer.com/tips/psa.html This stuff is Awesome! Have even used it successfully in areas that get a bit of weather. Finally, hope for the "woodless". Cheers! Capt Eric (itzallabouthtewood)
formica interiors thanks Eric, i'll check into your suggestions also. the boat i bought is named "At Last" out of Parish ny. It seems to need just lots of cosmetic work.it runs great. that steel hull sure seems te help withstability and smoothness. thanks again craig
Correction to List of Known Survivors Eric I have a correction to give you on the list of Know Survivors. An email that I received from the owner of the 1957 31' "Rhiannon" , ROX-31-157, states that it is a 1961 model. And my boat, 35' 1960 Riviera ROX-35-418 "The Shangri-La" is also a 1961 model built and delivered on Dec 27, 1960.
Redman - Please add my boat to the "List of known survivors" 1960 43' Roamer. Hull# R-43-111. No Name on record, and I havn't named her yet. Current Location: Great Lakes Marina, Muskegon, MI (formerly from Holland, MI. or so I have been told). Twin Detroit 5300 series naturally asperated desiel power plants. Currently undergoing a complete refit - anticipated launch date 05-2009. If any member out their knows anything about the history of this vessel, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Link to photo's of this Roamer in the condition I found it in is attached below: http://www.flipdrive.com/tjmortimer/photoalbum.php?user_id=113594&album_id=5&code=public
Interesting side note: As I was working on the Roamer this weekend (got most of the aft head demo'd) I found lost behind a cabinet the old ships radio station licence (Why in the aft head? I can only guess that Toilette paper was scarce) which lists this vessels name as "Still Afloat". Based on the old owners address (two owners ago) it looks like this boat may have been kept in southern Lake Huron. If anyone has any knowledge of this boats history - or has a photo of the "Still Afloat" I would love to hear from you. Thanks
The "Algoma" Happy to add to the List if Known Survivors, the "Algoma" which I recently purchased. It has been in Hancock, Michigan for several years, and I believe it came from lower Michigan but don't know when she was relocated. A 32 Foot Riviera Roamer. Lovin' it ! Hull No. RXD 320305R
One more Roamer to add to the list: 1960, 35', Express Hardtop Hull#: Unknown Boat Name: "In Too Deep" Location: Grandpappy Point Marina, Lake Texoma, Denison, TX Owner: Bob Schneider Comments: 4 Sale asking $29,000
Lucky Duck Wow, what a sweetie! And a rare one too - one of just 98 made. http://www.reocities.com/alloyed2sea/Riviera_Express_32.html Glad to see this one has fallen into good hands (again). Clearly, more than just a survivor - this Riviera looks like she puts the local Sea Ray contingent to shame everyday/way. Cheers! Eric
