YI bought an 80’ custom motor yacht which has 2002/2003 Cat 3412s and it came equipped with Racor Water Separators. We had a couple of spare 48030-10 elements on board. We are now looking for replacements but are now finding they are obsolete and not available. Would anyone know where I might find a case or an aftermarket replacement?
Metal frames racor element ? Never seen that. i ve always used 30 microns racors and whatever engine mounted secondaries the engine manufacturer used. That’s thousands of hours on 3412s, C32s etc. Do you have a picture of the filter housing ?
In fact, Cat recommends the same. Change the Racors to 30 micron and make sure the mains have 10 micron filters.
You may have the old Dahl filter. Parker / Racor did purchase that company. Part number may still be good, Amazon even has it. Give us the model number or a picture of the filter assembly. Your purchase survey should have this info. From there, The later part numbers and what is available can be had. It is a 10 mic filter, I'm thinking it may go to a generator and not the main engine.
You re right. That metal frame looks like an Dahl but they were wider. At least what my boat had when I bought it.
The 10 Micron was being used and I assumed I would stick with it. I cannot find the 10 or 30 micron elements. I am told they stop making this series???. Didn’t want to change out the entire Racor system but may have to. I am not near the boat. The service company sent this picture of the housing. It’s painted with no numbers.
This from the survey; Racor 180MC duel fuel filtration and water separator units serve main engines. Selector valve set at filler. Racor 180MC duel fuel filtration and water separator units serve main engines. Selector valve set at filler.
Racor 180MC duel fuel filtration and water separator units serve main engines. Selector valve set at filler. Racorstore did not recognize the 180MC or the 48030-10. I have an email into Racor Tech…,I just got this pic from the boat surveys
