A new model has been announced by Amels. The Amels 60-meter is a new generation of yachts from the Dutch yard and has an exterior design by Espen Oeino and an interior by Studio Indigo. She will have hybrid propulsion and be able to cruise at up to seven knots in full electric mode. Top speed is 15.5-knots and the range is around 4,500 nautical miles at 12 or 13-knots. The tenders are carried on the bow and there is provision for a small touch-and-go helipad just forward of the jacuzzi on the sun deck. The first hull is already under construction and will be available for delivery in 2022.

News is that the first hull has been sold! Still on track for delivery in the Spring of 2022. "The fast sale of the first yacht is very rewarding for everyone in our design, engineering and project teams who have worked so hard on the Amels 60 during the last few years. We’re very proud of the design and excited about building this new yacht for her owner," said Rose Damen, Managing Director at Amels.

Another look at the new 60-meter class. She looks good in this colour... unsure what colour the first one will be finished in.

Looks like she has been finished in the same colour hull as the rendering.

Although the concept interior for this series is by Studio Indigo, Winch Designs was also asked to design an interior concept for the model too. In fact, they designed two concepts called 'Moonlight' and 'Barefoot'. The owner of this first hull who is a repeat customer and now on their 3rd Amels, went with Winch Designs for the interior. How about those signature main deck windows though?

I wish Amels would install their windows flush with the exterior; here however the design at least compensated for it.

I've seen the one preview images of Moonlight and Barefoot from Winch, and Barefoot is a 'radical' departure for them, and quite nice.

Yes, very different for Winch. It is almost sort of B&R these days, their interiors have really...'matured'. Before they were known for very whimsical interiors now they decor ethos is alot more subdued and chic in a sense. With Winch before it was easy to tell a Winch project... but now they are branching out a bit more.

I particularly like how this hull colour shifts in different lighting conditions.

Departed Flushing early in the morning (around 07:00). Interesting that she was delivered as I was under the impression that she has a Russian owner (Alexander Dzhaparidze)
