Oops. The yacht Idol got a little jammed under the well known bridge from the Pisa yard. It was high tide and had no authority from the Port Captain to move the boat.

They had just under-gone a large refit, adding to the bow and stern. (original video taken down on YT)

Update: the boat has been stopped in Livorno, the captain has been arrested and its licence confiscated.

Obviously the captain ahould be fired and possibly loose his license but curious to know why he was arrested.

He removed the boat from the yard without paying the final bill. He moved the boat without Port Captain permission. He damaged a City bridge.

    Want more?

We just recently had the Celebrity Eclipse cruise ship come into DryDock. She cleared under the Longview WA bridge with only 5’ clearance. Everything was surveyed, re-surveyed and double-checked. But I’m sure the Captain and Pilot were still puckered tight. Glad our situation turned out better than Idol did.

And the owner thought refit liens by the yard were going to be annoying. What scums.
