Hi All. Ocean 46 Sunliner, The steering cylinder at the rudders tie rod was leaking slightly and is now rebuilt/re-sealed. Steering now works. I'm getting seven turns lock to lock. Don't recall what it was previously. Does anyone have any experience as to what's the normal number of turns lock to lock? Thanks.

Unless your tiller arm was re positioned during service and now the rudders are swinging past the tiller arm stops, It should take the same turns.
    Check your rudder/tiller arm stops.

Many thanks. Nothing was touched except for the hydraulic cylinder being re-sealed. So I assume lock to lock is the same.

My next guesses, the ram had debris in it keeping a full swing of travel or you never really thought about turns stop to stop before.:rolleyes::rolleyes: 99.99% of the time, nobody ever needs to swing full rudder unless bleeding the ram of air or installing an A-Pilot.
Humor me and check the tiller stops anyway. :D:D:D
