"NORD" might be reflagging? to... a Chinese flagstate? That notion is being floated around now. A similar thing is being said for the "A" sisters.

"NORD" about to dock in Vladivostok shortly, according to AIS, still reporting Cayman registration

Imagine being persona non grata in so many other countries, you're forced to fly the flag of a nation that is the world's largest operator of concentration camps.

Anyone know anything about how crew are treated/rights, if any different, with Chinese flagged boats?

Another channel reported, that the actual main question behind is insurance. Valid insurance is needed for "everything" and European and US insurer stopped business. So now they will also be insured by chinese stepped in... Are they also accepted? Flag is international maritime law, but insurance? I'm not an expert, therefor asking...

The most interesting aspect of those pictures and the video is that they leaked from Russia, clearly from Russian customs agents, no less. There are several possible implications from that several of which potentially speak directly to the strength - or weakness - of Putin's control over domestic government agencies. Also, to the extent these pictures are seen inside Russia, they obviously won't be received well. Imagine being an average Russian who can't go to the Apple Store or buy a Big Mac and potentially face real food rationing this summer yet Putin's best friend, the oligarch, is living like an....oligarch.

The Sun was leaking but now the Mirror is reflecting! If it weren't for the circumstances we would have never seen the interiors of some of these secretive superyachts.

Have you noticed that all the shelves are empty?
No books, no nothing, very aseptic interior. It looks...unfinished.
The best part of the yacht? The tender garage.

I’m just getting more and more disappointed with all these leaks; these interiors are all either grotesque or bland. There’s absolutely no effort put into the interior design; Nord even had a dried flower bouquet on a table! They all look like cheap hotels from the 90’s or retirement homes. I’m starting to feel bad for Lurssen’s craftsmen for having to built this stuff. :) At the same time, the Italian yards are putting out amazing looking interiors, so at least there’s hope!

    To bring some balance here...

You have to remember the circumstances they are operating under....the yachts are ON THE RUN. The owners aren't onboard. I see comments about the shelves are bare... well if you sailed in open ocean for 5,000 miles ...I would think as preparation you take down all the things that can fly around in open seas...like books, freestanding art pieces, vases, etc. If the owner isn't onboard you expect to see live floral arrangements? -especially when they aren't stopping anywhere to get fresh flowers...plus Alot of Western businesses aren't doing business with these R affiliated superyachts-. Yes we have our personal opinions but just remember... you didn't design the interior...it isn't for you. ;)

You can't blame Luerssen for this below IKEA standards interior. The client asked for it. And what do You expect from someone with no taste, no manners and no education. Either bombastic or tasteless but in both cases awful. The only thing they have a lot of, is the money, they have stolen from their country. With one word, or the swear word of the year, Oligarchs !!

The best thing that could happen is, that Nord came to Wladiwostok and the custom / emigration officer put those interior pictures and video online in Russia. Now the Russian people can see how their "Elites" live and the average people of Russia live in poverty.

The only nice interiors with Russian owned yachts are those where the internal designer(s) got free hands, like on Flying Fox.

    Just my 2 (Euro) cents

The chess pieces are still up in the far of the picture.
In the video, Booze still on glass shelves, blotter and junk still on the desk, carafe and pitcher still side tables and counters.
I don't think to much was packed up. Just like the long halls and staircase, pretty sterile naturally.

    Boring

Probably why I enjoy more of the mechanical views.
