    Need help finding a boat in my mind;

    Anybody remember the Bayliner / Trophy 28 hardtop?
    Anybody remember the Parker 28 extended pilot house?
    Anybody familiar with the PNW enclosed pilot cruisers?
    Anybody remember any 28 to 30-something pilot house like a Duffy with out the Duffy price tag?
    Any tall people ever stood up in one of these?

    I have this vision of an enclosed 30-something, with a nice berth below, galley and power cruising comfort for 2.
    Overhead A/C powered by a lil gen-set.
    A pair of good ole (big) outboards on a big asp bracket/platform.
    Head room.

    Tired of going slow, Want a near all weather fast boat.

    MLB almost comes to mind.

    Anybody out there see anything in the bone yards?

    Ideas on a retired budget?

    Yes, Ole Bertie may be on the block soon.

    What about an 'ole 33' Bertram sportfish?
    I like the Wellcraft 330 Coastal too. Not an enclosed pilot but hard top with new strataglass would work. In that vein Seaswirl Striper's might be worth a look too.
    The Bayliner Ciera Express is another option. Not to mention the Carver Voyager.

    But for me, for fast cruising, on a budget I would look at Formula 27 or 31 PC in that size. Not enclosed again but canvas and Strataglass can make any Formula enclosed:)

    You need a old downeast or lobster boat, gut it and repower with a pair of new outboards.

    or just buy one of the new Hinckleys outboard powered boats. They re cheap :)

    Something like these, yes.

    No fly bridge.
    No ladders or jungle gym.
    No rounded hull.

    Albin 28’ .

    Norseman has one.
    I was on his , very nice boat.
    There are three in my yard in CM.
    Relatively affordable boat single engine diesel.

    How about a Rosborough RF 246? Don’t think they are super fast but maybe fast enough

    I stood in a PNW pilot house. Not bad. I could see that working, but the main issue there is that you don't have enough deck surface for solar panels to....er...wait, wrong thread.

    Some of those main ship pilots are pretty nice also. 30’/34’.
    Also Luhrs Alura. 35’? Just have to find a clean one. I’m sure they are around .
    All affordable. IMO.

    Those big old outboards are big old bucks, and even you I think would be held captive by a dealer for service and work on them with all the computer junk teeny hoses and gizmos within them.

    Go back to basics, Single engine boat preferably a diesel or a modern gas Crusader with plenty of space to work on it in the bilge.
    Now you are in control. You can work on those , or tell someone how to work on one, just be a supervisor.

    All of 2021 was fixing AND FINISHING onboard projects.
    But the project list kept getting longer (fix one, find two more problems).
    Finally getting caught up and now, The world is in turmoil. F M

    I have a hanker for smaller, faster, more all weather and still for us to sleep, cook and eat well, boat.
    I'll have to re-think the older and newer Albins. Just wish they had some beam.

    What about a Post 46 or if you can get by with 1 head a 43? The 43's mostly had 671's.

    Boston Whaler and Pursuit have made pilot house style outboard boats for years. You might try poking around used boat lists for one of these.

    Nice boat.
    But since we’re going in that direction, let’s go all in , A nice classic Draketail bay boat, already redone by someone else, would be perfect.
    Along with a dry stack 671 for power.
    Now we’re talking.
