I own a 2002 Pacific Mariner 65, hull #28, and just love the boat. I have a couple of questions for other owners and would appreciate and helpful feedback.

My master shower vent fan motor has quit and I have not been able to find the motor. I am hoping that access is not behind the locker in the lower hall which provides access to the pumpout sea cock. If so it will take someone much thinner then I. It also might be above the headliner in the master shower but I hate to remove that if it is not the case so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also I have added a wifi extended on the bridge hard top and trying to find the wire run from the hard top to below. Also this wire run is just packed with the vhf coax, radar wiring, etc. which all run on the starboard side of the hard top down the arch. Any chance that there is access to below using the starboard access panel in the arch?

One person who has just some basic knowledge thinks that the headliner has to be removed to gain access to the wiring that runs down the starboard side but before I start removing I am just trying to pinpoint where these wires run.

Thanks so much for any assistance.

I had hull #14. The shower vent fan is inline and for the day head/twin berth head is in the headliner. Never replaced the master and can't remember what the overhead looks like in there, but removing the headliner was not much of a problem as it is Velcroed in. Twice I had to get into the space accessed through the hall locker and nearly had to call the fire department to get me out.

Did not have a hard top.

They are great boats. Good Luck.

Have you tried calling Westport for the answers you seek?

Unfortunately, Westport wasn’t helpful when we called them several years ago. Hope OP has better luck.

That is surprising. Always been great about helping me.
As they stopped building them a while ago, maybe the knowledge base is not available.
I would try to reach out to them.

Still helpful but they don't make the Factory number as readily available to the public as they once did, directing calls toward Fort Lauderdale where that information would be less likely to be known. I would still reach out.

I have tried Westport several times with no help unfortunately. The good news is that I did find the master head exhaust fan. There is access in two locations. One is behind the 24 volt panel at the top of the stairs that go below to the staterooms. The access here is limited but I might be able to get to it. Also, I tempted fate by removing the door for the locker in the hall below for better access and was able to squeeze myself in and low and behold both exhaust fans for the master and VIP are fairly easily accessible from here so problem solved.

As a follow up I have always had a head type odor when the boat is underway and I found that the vent hose had never been attached to the vent which is located in this locker. It was nicely tie wrapped but just hanging loose!

Interesting, since 2002 you think? Or when a vendor or previous owner was changing out black hoses during maintenance? Regardless, that is a great find and easy fix.

    Ron,

My name is Tom. I live in Annapolis. I sold my Navigator 44 pilothouse 2 years ago. In the last year of been considering buying another boat and the PM 65 as always been on my mind. My wife says “no way” due to the size and maintenance costs. But, I still would like to do the research. I was wondering if you’d be willing to talk to me on the phone to discuss your experience with yours? I fully understand if you would prefer not to do this. Thank you, Tom

Hi, Tammy. Glad to hear new text from an owner! I am hoping to find more PM65 owners. I would call some of the marina dock masters for their recommendations.
I am located in Virginia Beach, but usually spend winters in Florida. I know of another new owner, Alec, whose boat is in Fort Lauderdale. Keep in touch. Good luck with remodeling!

We are located at Sunset Bay Marina in Stuart, FL. We are liveaboards. Got out of town for the storm and have been advised that our boat is fine. Hello to all. Howard

There is a guy at Westport that was involved in the PM builds. I can't remember his name but if you call Westport and ask for the guy who knows PMs they will direct you to him. Hope this helps.

    Good day,

We purchased our Pac Mariner 65 in March od 2022. We too are looking for someone to do some work.
We have a bathtub in the Master and prefer to have a stand-up shower.
The dishwasher was removed in the galley and we want to replace the new drawer with a drawer type unit.
We have some vinyl wall coverings that are wrinkled and need to be replaced.

We are currently in Vero Beach and will leave her July first heading to Jacksonville, Florida.
