So, I'm searching desperately for a spare part and I hope someone can help?

    First, some additional info:

There is a broken part in the yacht of a good friend of mine in Barcelona and we can't seem to find this special part.

Engine: MTU 12V 331 TC92 and the serial number is 5531019
Gearbox: ZF model BW 250S serial 3142

So, our problem is the following:

The broken part is an elastic coupling between the engine and the gearbox. In Distret the gearbox and the engine aren't together, but are connected by a shaft, which is not usual in this kind of yachts.

In the side of the engine there is this elastic coupling that we're searching for.

So, my question is: Where can we search for this special part or can someone even print it with a 3D printer? What can I do?

All the best and thank you guys so much in advance!!

Could it come from THIS product line? If nothing else, those experts in that field could possibly help.

You are looking for a torsional coupler. As the poster above said ZF may have them. Another source would be Seaboard Marine in California. One of mine came apart and it was not hard to source but that was before our current supply chain issues. Tony at Seaboard is very knowledgeable and his number is 1805 382 6287. His website shows a number of choices. Good Luck

    My oh my.
A friend has a hole in his shoe.
Can anybody help I D the sole???

    Give us a break.

Has a real tech been on board yet?

MTU and ZF and boat manufacture could all use the same vendor or 10+ different ones.
I would ask the Mfg first, ZF next. They will request more data and probably pictures.

Send us more data and pictures of what you are looking for.

Yes, there are many coupling manufacturers and many models of couplings.
One style would be used if the engine/trans were considered "Close Coupled"
But a completely different style would be used if it was considered a hard mounted transmission with a free floating engine.
You've not given us any information to work with.

If you click on the thumbnail next to the picture of the yacht. You can see that it is a close-coupled black rubber coupling bolted to the flywheel. Sure made a mess!

I missed the LITTLE picture also.
Swallowed up by the big picture of something non-applicable.

I'll load & blow up the pic to study it.

Still, no such thing as to much usable data.

Well, loading and blowing up did not work well.
    So;
Looks like a ZF assembly, I can not tell to be positive.
That part number on the adapter ring (12:00 position) may help also.
