Older video from last year but it shows some nice views of yachts in Monte Carlo at night and during the day...

It that spot is like anywhere else there were a LOT of signs, buoys and possibly a wire to tell these cheeseheads to NOT proceed past that point. And then others have to put themselves at risk to get their ass out of the pickle. I hope they got charged.

Cruising near dams or spillways always makes me nervous. You're standing station waiting for the locks to open and if you lose your motor that's where you're going, and fast. As for the PFDs, my guess is on a boat like that they're kept under the bow. Anybody think they'd like to move their weight up there? This is a case where you jut have to do without them. The boat coming to their aid is interesting. Can't say I've ever seen one like it.

My guess is that the boat's engine can't read or maybe even see.

I see no prop wash and that boat is from the 1960's. My guess would be that their engine failed. Btw "cheeseheads" are from considerably north of there (Wisconsin).

I've boated a lot on inland lakes and seen virtually not warnings at dams such as that one. With most water levels, I guess they figure the dam itself is a big enough warning, but when the water is up, often that's not the case.

In the Southern States, there's been F**k-all water for 20 years. A local would know that.

Dams aren't much of a problem as you can't generally go over them. It's the spillways that'll get you. In upstate NY you have several next to locks. They're well marked but if you lose power you're heading there.
