Anybody have any info on a 100’ forsale in Los Angeles , it’s on eBay and looks to have started life as a 88’ 1979 , it appears to have a steel hull aluminum super structure and was in a boat yard for 5 years and had a lot of work done to it but never finished, looks like it could be a nice project

Or it could be a money pit. Back in the 1990's a lot of boats were being extended. Some worked out better than others. 25% is quite an extension.

I don’t think the extension is the issue , just wondering if anybody saw the boat during the 5 years on the hard going thru a refit and redesign of the hull and super structure

It's a Benetti. That is ALL you need to know, RUN for the hills unless you're an ABCY certified marine electrician and 5'5 and 150 lbs. Not to mention it's about $250k or more to rebuild those old, smoky, 16v detroits, so you might as well plan on repowering it right off the bat or it won't ever be worth anything as far as resale goes.

    Really $250k to rebuild a pair of 16v Detroit’s , I don’t think so probably more like $60k

At $3000 a jug I'm at 100K And "while we're in there we may as well".... But yes, 250K is a little high drama.

Try accessing the bottom end in that boat. The length of the crankshaft is also an issue. While you're there, the blocks should be seperated and new pins installed. 16's add a lot to rebuild, but call your local dealer and ask them what it costs.
