Transporter Listing Badly Off Norway

Anyone can identify the blue cat?

From what I see in the pic I think it's below deck cargo that shifted, not the boats on deck.

A bit about the transporter, Starclass Yacht Transport. They have two ships and run three shuttles per week between Turkey and Norway. They also stop in Croatia, Greece, Malta, Italy, France, Mallorca, Gibraltar, England, The Netherlands, and Germany. This could be a major blow to European transport if yachts were lost as well as half the capacity. They've been transporting in one fashion or another since 1987 but converted their two current ships into yacht carriers in 2013.

I wonder why the crew jumped overboard for the rescue instead of getting off with the lifeboat at the stern

It looks like they lost a yacht on the stern on the port side. You can see the cradles welded to the deck and everything where it used to be and that loss of weight most likely caused it to list to starboard.

I would guess that they jumped overboard because it was a lot faster and the ship could capsize at any minute.

That tan aft deck section looks like a hatch. Below that should be a cargo deck which I'd guess is where the cargo shifted. With the open side ports I'd guess that deck is for gas or diesel vehicles that'll run there. Do they also transport cars and trucks?

They lost a green work boat of the Port side, not a yacht.
The green boat is still floating and the owners are crossing their fingers it may in good shape and can be salvaged.
All 12 crew and officers are off the Dutch ship, and one report said the ship was left on autopilot and under slow speed into the waves and wind towards the Shetland Islands. (Not confirmed)
Cargo under deck broke lose and caused the Starboard list up to 30 degrees as well as water intrusion. (Hull breached?)

This is the boat that feel off the freighter, it cost $7.8 million to build, seems to be in good shape..

If anything would survive a fall off of a freighter, that boat would be a very good pick. A fiberglass yacht OTOH would probably be a disaster.

They had planned to put 4 guys on the ship today, then tow it to sheltered waters, anchor, then stabilize her, but the conditions were too rough.
Better forecast for tomorrow, 3 tugs are standing by and a helicopter is ready to drop the 4 salvage guys onboard.

Yup, and it seemed to have landed right side up as the mast and antennas appear to be in good shape.
The green boat is supposed to be # 3 in a fleet of support vessels for a fish farm in a fjord North of Trondheim. (Where yours truly was born a few years ago.)

Supposedly it was “Thrusters” that broke lose, not sure if they meant huge bow thrusters or pods or what.

Cargo below could be **** near anything. I would think something dense and heavy such as steel. The cargo had to have enough room to shift drastically, meaning it was so heavy that it didn't fill up the hold anywhere near completely. If it was something lightweight but large in size such as cardboard, even shifting, it wouldn't have much room (space) to shift.

The weather improved, now the ship is under tow.

The guy that owns that sailboat is popping a LOT of Maalox right now.....
