You will need all the crew quarters for crew. Westport's crew cabins really match up well to required crew. On the 130', the upper lounge could easily be used for occasional sleeping quarters. The fact that both the main level and the upper level have day heads helps. Also, a couple of the staterooms are well arranged for sharing by non-couples.
There have been lots of accidents lately with big ships, so that is why Governments would be getting pressured to improve their regulations on shipping practices.
No, but I have considered that call. Gotta get get some rather complex financial things accomplished first. I tend to think the skylounge and main salon overflow sleeping arrangement would be ok. Or offload the therapists when we need their staterooms.
Don't overlook sharing of rooms, whether kids, whether therapists, whether kids with therapists, people are typically quite use to doing so on a boat. Perhaps not necessary at all times but at some. A 130' sleeps 17 but the key is arranging so every bed, both in staterooms and crew cabins, is used. We've only occasionally exceeded that number. Once in Montreal where we also had some in a hotel and in Key West where we had some in a villa but on those two occasions we had 19 or 20 aboard. Oh, I think also Thanksgiving in Los Angeles, when people flew in. It was always because those involved preferred staying on the boat because hotels were always presented as an option. We've never actually cruised with over 17.
