Thanks . It always takes longer than you think to do projects on the boat.
Pulling out all of the old staples was a real blast ! Grrr...

I'd be curious to see a closer shot of this if you have. It looks like a good idea for tight areas and detail cuts although for longer cuts I have to think a sharp carpet knife would be faster.

I don’t have a close shot of the set up.
But it went fast on a long cut and much cleaner that a carpet knife.
You can cut circles , U shapes etc with ease. I rarely used my carpet knife/razor.
I’ll get a better photo next week.

I can see that it would be great for detail cut. Great tip. I'll be keeping it in mind. Just having trouble picturing the hook blade on a rotary tool. Jig saw maybe. lol. I look forward to seeing the pic. Btw if you took it on your phone you should be able to zoom and cut the pic.

We have an area rug that covers over the seams and also helps protect the carpet.

You did nice work but that blade scares the c--p out of me for that job unless I was cutting on dirt. I'd be afraid it would catch on your cutting surface and send the blade or the whole rotary tool flying. Think I'll stick with a carpet knife or box cutter.:D

Going to pick up the reupholstered built in sofa and two club chairs this weekend at my G.F.'s cousin's shop in Tilghman Island Md. with the fabric in my first post. Then haul back to Cape May to reinstall. Hope it looks good....the fabric that is her work is very good. I'll post a photo in a few....

Between that blade and having your GF'S cousin doing the upholstery you've got courage. But the cutting worked out for you so hopefully the cousin does also. Good luck. Look forward to seeing the final result.
