Exactly my point: "Of course it is (an endless debate). For those who didn't catch my sarcasm throughout this thread let me spell it out. If you put lawyers, politicians and a whole lot of money in a room and tell them to put it to good use the debate will go on forever with no resolution until bit by bit the money disappears. The only good reason for doing anything is because it's the right thing to do, but for those who worship the dollar there is no right thing. It's wrong to destroy the Amazon rain forest. It's wrong to pollute our waters, land and air, but for those who only see dollars there will never be any way to make them understand. There will always be a rationalization. So to debate it is a joke. I'll cheer when an idealist makes some headway, but I won't be surprised when he doesn't."

Vote with your wallet. I try to buy American products first, then if none available that meet my needs look for a European or other product, Chinese is my very last choice. I'm from the buy once, cry once, crowd.

I’ve read honest reporting that Chinese truffles are repackaged in Italy as being a local Italian product. Made in the USA often requires closer review than the labels advise.

You guy's are not supposed to talk about how electricity is made or the cost of making and keeping those battery cars charged, it is classified top secret info. California has decimated their electric grid and buying power from other states, wow that worked out well. Have a brother in law that lives near a power plant in Oklahoma which sells a large portion of their production to California....funny how they outsource pollution to their neighbor. The whole green energy thing is a joke. We spend major $$$$ to clean our act up while others around the world do nothing. We still ship lots of coal around the world...must be those with exemptions.

Thank you but I'll vote with my conscience, and buy based on value. Love when that carries the Made in the USA tag, even though that's no guaranty that it is, but we're all free to do as we please.

rtrafford, it is impossible to know the origin of most products we buy today. I took my grandson and his buddies to a toy store years back. They could each get a toy if made in America...we left empty handed to get a milk shake...they were happy.

I’d be more concerned with the origin of the milkshake than the toys. Lol.

Milkshake. Sounds good right about now...

California is a joke. I’ve sold all my property except one and eventually that will be going too. Shutting down all nuclear power, not allowing new power other than wind and solar. At the same time prohibiting natural gas in new home construction and mandating electric vehicles. When the temperature hits 90 we have brown outs and rolling blackouts now. Not too worry though because they can harvest rainbows for materials to build batteries and unicorn farts will provide the power to charge them.

We thank you for your sacrifice out there. You need to come to Florida....save a bunch of on taxes and enjoy plentiful natural gas and electricity. You can even have your own natural gas house generator here. :D

California can barely generate enough power as it is, there is no way they can handle massive numbers of electrical cars needing to be charged. Not without even more black outs

As to country of origin, when buying in a brick and mortar store, you can see when something is made as it must be labeled. It doesn’t mean you re always going to find an alternative to made in China but at least you can

online though, good luck. Most online stores do not show the COO. Impossible to know. One notable exception is Tire Rack which shows where each tire is made. A life saver, literally. There is no way in hell I would drive on tires from China

the morals are funny. How can anyone justify supporting a country with awful human right records and who currently persecute its muslim minority. Amazing.

We are literally setting our own communities on fire as a rebellious sign of reforms that don't appear to be happening quickly enough, yet ironically this is the very same country that over time managed to completely overcome the grievances of the 1619 Theory, grievances that were in place long before we were a country, taking place principally in land owned by Spain and France.

Yet we cannot even agree that this virus came from China. 50% of the country wants to believe it was created right here in the White House by this administration. That's how far they go out of their way to avoid disparaging China. Why? Gotta follow the money, and that helps to explain the propaganda feeding the perspectives.
