Sorry I am taking this thread way in left field.
If you don't mind I have to correct your comment; There in South Florida, you have the engine dealer mechanics........trained by the dealership...
Here is South Georgia (Jax FL) It's usually the service manager only that is trained and barely keeps the factory shingle hanging on the wall.
I found one shingle with the parts manager name on it to keep that brand going thru that shop.

Factory authorized up here don't mean squab.

Anybody up here need service, PM me for my reflections on a lifetime of observations in the Jax FL area.

Yes here, and I think at most places outside big cities most marinas are full service. You can bring in outside people for stuff they don't do but the marinas get a piece. Let's say you're in East Hampton and you need a Volvo guy. He's in Patchogue. That's 4 hours of travel time (2 hours each way) during the summer. Then the marina gets their piece. Diesels get expensive.

Out here on the east end1 marina I know of kept a diesel mechanic and we had 2 independent diesel mechanics They covered about 60 miles. Picture A1A at the height of tourist season and that's the east end in summer. So you had to work with their schedule.

Wonder if anyone has noticed that (comparing to your other pic) it's sinking.

Yup, we had heavy rain the last few days and with no operating bilge pumps it it sits lower in the water every time I go by.

Heavy rain also forecast for this weekend..:(

I understand that it's probably left as evidence (civil or criminal) or there's arguments over whose responsibility it is to dispose of, but you'd think that the county or someone would drop a pump in to preserve it and prevent any environmental damage. The transom looks low enough to start taking wakes over it. So it might not be floating too much longer.

So, whoever is going to pull it from the bottom needs to wake up and get involved before it does go down completely.
And when it sinks, more evidence is lost. Hope investigators got everything.

I asked the USCG if they are investigating another illegal charter, they said no, FWC is.

It seems the USCG Miami station has a real hard on for enforcing the illegal charters, meanwhile USCG Fort Lauderdale you never hear of doing anything about them generally.

It has rained daily, and we have a tropical storm coming. But, I've been down that canal and am pretty sure that boat is aground already.

    Monsoon season going on.

    Heavy rain almost every day.
Anchored in North Lake on the ICW last week, saw 3 boats half sunk:
6 weeks ago they were afloat.

A lot of the local burn, salvage and repo boats end up at a salvage/storage yard on the Miami River. He's tied in with the police/fire/US Marshall/USCG etc and they sit there while all claims get settled. I've worked there off and on for past cpl of years maintaining one of the more upper end salvage boats. He just happens to be moving his storage facility right now so may not be bringing in new stuff until he gets relocated.

Amazing that it still is there... My dock is Davie Blvd and New River and that thing is right around the corner from me. Took my dingy up there last week to go to YOT for lunch and was surprised. I can't believe that had insurance knowing the crowd it came from. I woould think they would tow it out of the water to avoid the mess.... Really surprised

We are neighbors: I am on Guava Isle and also have a place on Davie, Rio Nuevo Condos.
