I’m replacing the carpet and fabric on the sofa and club chairs this winter.
So what do you like best ?

fabric on the sofa arm , first one is cargo liner that I plan to put on some bulkheads around the fwd v-birth shelves and around galley ports /shelves .

The second is the fabric for the sofa and chairs. Third is for accent pillows or possibly the two club chairs only.

    What do YOU think ?

The darkest colored carpet, which I believe the color is called wizard from Fabrica. I used it on a 62' Sunseeker with a lot of very light tones.....off white on the walls and couches.....and a medium khaki tan on other parts of the walls and it blended in VERY well and never looks dirty.

Hopefully you're single Cleanslate. :p I leave those decisions to my wife. Surely not to some guys on the internet who don't have to face her every day. I'll choose fabric for quality, but color and texture? No way.

"Yes Dear". That said she is a benevolent ruler who seeks to do decorating things I like too. Most of the time.

Capt J , that’s the one we both like , the darker color.

BS , on the lady’s choice!
    It’s a two way inlet !
We will decide together....and like it.

Going to look at a final Fabrica carpet color next .

Shaw Carpet was in the photo.

Together, absolutely. But on color and texture I'd give deference to my wife over internet strangers. Plus in my case my wife has a better eye for these things than I do.

Forgot to mention the Shaw carpet has a nice spill proof backing to keep this from leaching into the padding making it easier to clean up.
But the bigger plus with the blue backing , it helps keep the carpet from fraying . Not as important to roll and tuck the carpet ends , which makes it bulky around hatches etc...

Well I'm now a carpet installer. Currently doing the job my self. Not easy to find some one to install it here in Cape May which also goes by '' Cape Maybe'' meaning maybe some will show up to quote and do the work or if you give them the work , maybe they will show up on any given day to do the work.
Well maybe they can all go blank themselves. I can do it. Went to Harbor Freight loaded up on carpeting tools and got to work it's going well so far . Very time consuming. Doing entire boat and some bulk heads. I will post some pictures soon. Learned a neat trick for easy carpet cutting using my oscillating tool and a carpet cutting razor blade. Make for easy effortless cutting. I'll post a picture of that too.

Probably one of the most critical (and painful) steps is stretching the carpet. My knees would never survive the kicker.

I did get one NYCAP123 but here's the kicker on said kicker. It's hard to stretch this carpet for two reasons . One most of my pieces of carpet are small like 3' x 7' or 4' x 5' or smaller . I can't even get enough leg swing room to kick the kicker. Small stuff won't strech much at all. Think I'll need a bigger boat for that !
Second if you see my carpet photo above it has a plastic spill proof film over the back of it making it pretty snug .
Luckily the old carpet is coming out in whole pieces which I use as patterns over the new stuff . Cuts down on measuring etc.
I am also using padding with a spill proof backing to it.
You should come on down and hang with me on the boat and help out ! Lol.

Also getting the two club chairs ( one is in the photo above) and the sofa done.
NOT by me . My girlfriend's cousin does interior marine upholstery work and is doing the work in her back yard shop on Tilghman Island MD. Lol really ! Who knew a small Watermans island could have such a talent !
She did our curtains , cushions , and forward mattresses which can out very well .

Be right there. LOL. Thanks to Glucosamine and some arthroscopic surgery I have pretty good knees for an old guy, and I plan to keep them that way by not getting near a kicker. LOL. I've always been the type that keeps his eyes open for talent in all fields and found a lot in places you'd never expect. It made for a full contact book.
