Hello YF members. Have been following Post forum for some time, have a few friends who are current owners. We are interested in finally purchasing, and have identified a 46' Post in the Providence area, and we live in Baltimore MD. Before the Admiral, myself and another long term Post owner make the trip to view the boat, I was hoping to arrange for a surveyor or other referred professional, to be contracted (yes willing to pay a reasonable fee) to visit the boat, take a fair amount of good pictures, and report back as to the basic condition of the boat before making the arrangements to travel up to visit. Too many sellers and brokers, as many know, will tell you a boat is in excellent condition, only to be disappointed when you actually show up to see the boat. Boat is located 20 minutes from downtown Providence. Will provide link via PM, based upon contact with individual.

Any recommendation or referral would be appreciated.

If you fell the boat is right for you, make the investment in an engine survey as well. This will give you a great baseline on where the engines stand from your day 1. Oil and fluids will be sent out and analyzed including the genset. Sea trial data taken will be extremely valuable in your decision making process. Good luck.

Davidoc, agree completely, will certainly get a engine survey with analysis performed of mains and gen along with full survey, as well as a successful sea trial. At this point, I am looking for a first look, touch and pictures before making the initial visit.

Have read many of your comments to posts here over the last couple years and respect all of your valuable insight from ownership and experience. With a positive result of a purchase, will be looking for even more insight from yourself and the other owners here, hopefully in the near future. Eventually, will hope to take a Post to FL for a winter trip.

Thanks for that. The other contributors on this forum are all top notch people and they love their boats.

I live in the Providence area and would be willing to take a look at if for you. I have a 1999 50 and have been around boats for a long time. If you want to pay someone, I’m not your guy. If you’d like a free assessment I’d be happy to do it. I may even know the owner...let me know what you think.

Seth Fisher, thank you very much for offering your time and effort. I will respect your desire to refrain from any monetary compensation, provided you at least allow me to treat you to a meal and beverage when we do come up to Providence.

YF Admin, kudos to you sir for recognizing Seth’s generosity also, thank you.

Seth, I will PM you a link to the listing, if that’s acceptable.

A prime example of why I posted here on YF, as I’ve read many threads with posts of this exact type of generosity.

    Beau,

Looking for a 46, Mark II hull, so 88 or later, 672’s or 692’s, for family cruiser. Been watching YW and BT on a regular basis.

We have a beautifully maintained 1988 Post 46 in excellent condition in Maryland with an extensive list of upgrades! Engines recently rebuilt with less than 50 hours. We love our boat and the reason we are selling is because we have recently bought a hunting property. She is the complete package if anyone is looking to buy, ready to cruise with family or fish with friends! Also any recommendations appreciated on where I can post this offer? Thanks - Angela

    Angela,

Please contact me via PM and we can exchange contact info. I am interested in speaking with you about your Post. I still have pics from when it was advertised previously. Still located at Lighthouse Point in Canton?

    Angela,

My apologies for not including in original reply. I am not a broker, but an interested buyer, local to Baltimore, specifically Middle River area.

Look forward to communicating about the Post.

Angela - I'm looking for Post 46 (live in Annapolis) too. Please PM contact info. I think I may have seen your boat if you were in the marina at Federal Hill last September. I took a picture of a Yellow Post 46 when we were there.

I am working through my broker (sold my last two boats for me) as buyer agent.

Congratulations. Good find. I'd never seen that one listed anywhere.
