Definitely not slow here in November - January. Some of the yards even have variable pricing. Now, February and March are lighter. We do all our scheduled large jobs like bottom painting in slow times for the yard.

The yards here fill up in the spring. Not a good time to haul and get work done. Not many MY's with stabilizers either.

Yes, very different than South Florida, so clearly some of my comments don't apply. For us, winter is a big season.

Have any of you replaced your hydraulic fluid when having your fins removed, leaks repaired if necessary, and replacement with new seals? I’m curious, I asked my yard to completely r&r my Niads but all they did was do the fins and check hoses. Comments? Is the boat owner supposed to replace the fluid? And if so, how often?

When our Niad fins were recently resealed I had the tech drain the reservoir tank and refill, took about 7 gallons of Shell Tellus hydraulic fluid. Recommended changing the reservoir fluid every three years or 4000 hrs. The fluid can be changed whether boat is in or out of the water.

So Does anyone know the cost of a replacement fin? My boss was at the wheel this past weekend, and managed to ruin one of my fins. Our's is a 73' sportfish
