I know I am going to kick myself when I get the answer, but I can not find the windlass breaker. Diagram shows it starboard forward engine room. I must be blind. Any ideas where to look? Thanks!
It's probably a "swing" breaker. My term. Do you know what they look like? Properly located, it should be near the batteries, I believe.
Its probably a "swing" breaker - my term. Do you know what they look like - a diamond on its side black base with a warning light and button. If properly located, I believe its supposed to be near the batteries. I think they are referred to as water proof also
I've seen them near the helm (my favorite location), engine room, and up near the windless itself. Trace the line back from the unit and back from the control. It could have been planned (and diagrammed) for one location but moved (closer to the helm) at the owner's request. Nothing to kick yourself about, but you could want to kick the installer when you find it. What kind of boat is this on?
It may look something like this. Carl my advanced apologizes if this is over sized - I never get that right.
Thanks again for the picture but I never found it. Looked everywhere I could get my fat body into and I just didn’t see it.
Ever think you may just have an ANL fuse in the fuse box? I know lots luv breakers, but fuses were the original design on many option installations. Keep us up on your adventures,, in da bilges. There may be monsters in them there bilges (que spooky music)....
Well good luck, you'll need to trace the wires from the windlas back to their ultimate connection with the battery. Somewhere between the windlas and battery hopefully you will find a breaker or a fuse.
Capt Ralph anything is possible, but I so have a schematic that show a breaker starboard side up by engine room bulkhead, but I don't see one, so somewhere along the way someone could have changed it. Beau, I will let you know what I find. Thanks for the help.
I have not had a chance to get back down to her and continue looking. Hopefully this weekend I can get it resolved.
Mine is on the electrical panel it's self..1981 Ocean 42. Perhaps it's not labeled properly and could be one of the ''spare'' breakers? or it's in the rope locker under the windlass?
